Icon11 Oh, my aching thighs

A couple we're friends with invited us to a curling tournament for charity this Saturday, and grudgingly, I went. It turns out I had a really terrific time. I haven't had that big a break away from the kids in, well, never. The curling part was a ton more fun than I thought it would be, and the adult conversation complete with dirty jokes and rowdy euchre games (in between games) and pitchers of beer...it was delightful. I didn't want it to end.

But you know when you see curling on tv and it looks sort of non-athletic and kind of easy. Well, that is NOT how it is. I didn't feel the pain until I had been home for a few hours but I have not been able to walk right all day. Ouch. I thought I would be fine since I've been working out at the gym 5-6 days a week since Christmas, including one machine I've affectionately nicknamed the 'thigh killer'. However, I have now found certain thigh muscles that apparently I have never used before in my life. So, excuse me for the evening but I need to get these things into a hot bathtub.

Okay, first off 15lbs lost, that is awesome. I am so proud of you, going to the gym 4-5 times per week. I wish!

Curling is fun! I played once with a company that I worked for (Lafarge Cement). They organized an outing years ago. I am glad that you got a night out and that you had fun.

Bath? What is that? Still haven't taken one of those...

Me neither. I'm still in this computer seat, and my bath chance is slipping away. Oh well, priorities you know. Of course, my tub is not nearly as inviting as yours. I don't know how you resist.

I LOVE curling!!! I used to curl all the time... I was good once apon a time. Glad that you had a great time. And not to mention euchre, I am so rusty as nobody here plays and I suck at teaching people.

Good for you for going to the gym so much. I keep thinking that it would be good to go but then put it off.
