Default Hi girls

How're you all doing? Nothing much to update you on...
  • I'm fulltime at work now (started Jan. 9) and as luck (!!?) would have it, I got plunked right into the nastiest part of the seven-week rotation. I work this Thursday (tomorrow) and Friday for a dayshift (6am-4pm) and then Sat, Sun, Mon night shift (4pm-2am), two days off, and then Thurs, Fri, Sat, Sun night shift again. Ugh!!! I am NOT looking forward to it. Mom has said that she'll most likely keep Brogan at her place overnight and then bring him back around 10'ish but I'm sure any sleep I get after 7am will be fitful as I'm not used to "sleeping in" anymore.
  • Brogan has started (finally!) taking a couple of steps on occasion but he only goes about three or four usually before he either falls to his knees or purposely drops to them.
  • He goes on Feb. 8 for his speech assessment regarding his tongue tie. I have no idea what they'll learn since he doesn't talk (and I don't think it's because of the tie - he babbles just fine) but the ENT says it's his policy to have a letter from them before he does the snip.
  • I faxed off a resume yesterday for a fulltime job as an Office Support Clerk for The Ministry of Government Services, Ontario Shared Services. I'm not all that hopeful but it is just clerical work which is what I have been doing. The pay is $18 to $21. I make the top end of that now and I have no problem starting out a couple bucks lower because I know I am well paid for what I do. (The clerks where I work are among the highest paid clerks in the City.)
And that's about it I think. Except that I think I may try my hand a cloth diapering. I'll be sewing my own and using a lot of recycled/thrift store fabrics/finds but I'm going to give it a shot. My mom doesn't think I'll stick with it so just for that I WILL!

Hopefully it won't be as long between visits here next time.

Shift work is hard. Shift work when you're a single mom must be insane. I'm glad your mom can watch him. Hopefully you don't find it too exhausting. Maybe you'll be tired enough to sleep, even if it is daylight.

Let us know how it goes at the speech doc. Once the other doc gets the letter, will they be fixing his tongue? Let us know how the diaper biz goes, as well. Good luck!
