..of what's been going on over on the Debate board? I said my little bit, and I think that'll I leave it at that. I just can't believe it's already made it to "chapter 3"

Are we really "that cool"?

HOLY SCHNIKES!!! I'm neither BAC or LDS, and I'm getting sucked in!! But at least I'm going to keep my mouth...er fingers quiet.

UH-OH!! I'm Catholic - am I a Christian?!?! (sorry, I just could NOT resist that!!)

Someone made a very interesting point about if there were prophets years ago, then why couldn't there be modern day prophets??? And so Joseph Smith getting all his revelations, etc is weird, how is that any weirder than the burning bush, the flood, parting of the Red Sea, etc. I may not follow your religion, but I respect it and in many ways, its origins are no different from mine. It all comes down to your faith in what you believe.

Hmm, not sure if that all came out like I wanted it to, but I'm trying to finish reading before dh is out of the shower - too much to read in too short a time!

I've been staying away from the debate board lately, because I tend to get too emotionally involved. I'm glad some of you are over there though.

Well, Boo just went off on her little she can hear God tirade, so I asked her if she then believed that it was possible that God spoke to Joseph Smith as well. We'll see what she says.

I think there are people on the board that are genuinely interested. Unfortunately, those debates usually bring out those that are extreme in their opinions . . . especially in regards to anything that isn't BAC.

I am surprised that we have locked up two posts in such a short amount of time - didnt think that many people cared about the Christian status of the LDS Religion. But I have to say that I think we have represented our side in a positive manner . . . not resorting to name calling or anything. At least, that is my perception; and that cannot be said for all threads involving religion.

Bev, I think you made a great point.

I think it's Boo who got her panties in a wad that SK had LDS listed as a Christian group.

I don't think they are going to change it anytime soon. But, I do feel that the debate is getting more into the "what do Mormons believe" and "whats wrong" with what we believe. I too tend to get emotional when people speak ill of my religion, as Christine said. It's something I hold very dear to my heart, as I'm sure all religious people do of their beliefs, whatever they may be. It's hard to have people tell you that you are "wrong" for something that you believe is true in your own heart.

I think that'll I'll just watch (the debate) from the sidelines for now
