Hi Melanie,

This is a pretty quiet forum, I think most people post on another forum but I am involved here on SK and just stayed here. I am so sorry for your loss and wish you the best!

I am LDS as well!

Welcome Melanie...I haven't been on the LDS board in ages. I'm not sure how often people post here.

Hi Eden - I didn't realize you were LDS! I remember you from the IVF board. I don't know if you remember me or not, but I've been around for awhile now as you can see from my siggy.

Hi Everyone!

Steph-WOW, look at your journey! I bet Jake is the love of your life! Did you go through LDSFS? what are your next plans with IVF? You have had such a journey adn I am so sorry you don't have another baby in your arms by now. Sarah, is it freeking cold in SD right now? Its beautiful today here but we actaully have had some winter weather this winter...amazing for Texas!

Sarah-I am from Texas and I would rather post here too, since its free, that is a definite plus!

Eden - Yes, we adopted Jake from LDSFS. He is the love of my life, for sure!! We have our profile online for another adoption through LDSFS. We'll see what happens.

We had a follow-up with our RE yesterday and he still believes that IVF will work for us - just need the right batch of eggs/sperm. I am emotionally spent right now, not to mention financially spent. We're going to take a break and see what happens.

Are you considering IVF again in the future? I'm so happy that it worked for you the first time! What a blessing!! Landry is adorable!!

Steph-Yes, we are considering it but the $$ is the big deal. We thought we might start to save and try again next year but I just don't know. We would need to save quite a bit of money, like 10K, and yet my chances are diminished considerably since I will turn 35 this year. So, we are still thinking. I would love to have more kids, but just do not know if it is in the cards.

I cannot imagine how emotionally spent you must be. IVf is exhausting and to have a failed cycle would be crushing, even for the strongest of spirits. I wish you the best in your journey...I decided long ago that Infertility is a journey, and as crappy as it can be, its my journey and I must own it as my own and be grateful for it. There are many people who have to deal with some awful things in life, so I am grateful that at least I can work with this some and try to manipulate the system.

I truely hope you can get your 2nd child soon, however it comes!

hi Eden and Steph...

It took Dh and I a long time to concieve Rachel, I can only imagine though what you have both been through. Prayers for baby blessings for both of you!!! Landry is so cute~!!! Any pictures of Jake? Oh, I was reading in the ensign about how some stakes have infertility issue groups for their members. Have you heard of this? I think it would be a great thing for every stake to have- there is nothing worse than seeing baby bellies everywhere around you feeling you're the only one who deals with this trial...

**I stepped up to host this forum, so hopefully we'll get some more posters and be able to turn this board into somewhere that can be really supportive and a place to give and receive advice from those who share the same beliefs! If you have any suggestions, please let me know!!! This is my first time doing this, so deal with me! LOL!**

I am soooo ready for spring! It is gorgeous out today and so slushy but I just know this isn't the last of the snow for us... The spring cleaning bug has hit me hard though. Along with nesting I get a huge overwhelming urge to decorate... Any ideas on making a master bedroom more of a retreat?

Sarah

LDStalk.com is a pretty popular LDS message board as well as LDScity.com but these sites focus exclusively on LDS and LDS related topics instead of having a board like this which is a part of a larger site. I think we need to all start new threads and get some action here.
I am LDS as well and from Utah although I have been living in Indiana for the past year and a half.
Nice to meet you all.

I haven't checked this board in awhile. Thanks for your kind words, Eden. We hope some how some way this will happen again. I hope does for you too without needing IVF. I'm turning 35 this year also - my RE told me though that age group has a higher success rate at his clinic than the younger one?

Sarah, I will see if I can post a picture of Jake. I read the infertility support group idea in the Ensign too. I think it's a great idea. Unfortunately I think we are the only ones in our ward struggling with it. ND only has 2 stakes in the whole state! It sure would be nice though.

I'm glad you're hosting this board, Sarah. I'd like to see it get going too.

BTW, Rachel is adorable!

Welcome AnnaLaurab!
