Icon9 Kaysville Anyone?

So, I'm very sad today! Two of my dear friends are moving because their hubbies are graduating from law school. One is moving far away and closer to her in-laws that she doesn't get along with but she's pretty strong and I think she'll be just fine. The other is moving IN with the in-laws she doesn't get along with and I just want to weep because I will be in a whole different country when she needs someone to help her escape that house on a daily basis and someone to give her a hug whenever she needs one. So everybody please reassure me that she'll be in good hands with the Relief Society no matter where she is! (Can you tell that we just had our big last-hurrah-friends-outing before they move?) So sad, so sad, so sad. She's moving to Kaysville and her name is Brittany so if anybody lives in Kaysville and someone named Brittany moves into your ward could you please please please as a personal favor to me be the best friend in the world to this wonderful sister?

I'm so sorry Marianne! Soon I'll be moving away from good friends and it's so hard! I have family that live in Kaysville. I can let them know if you would like. Do you know what ward she will be in? That way I can ask my family if they'd be in the same ward. Or an address so we can see if they live close by each other. It's my aunt and uncle that live there but I have cousins too that come and go. So whatever I can do to help. Again I'm so sorry!

I'm so sorry. That sounds like a tough situation. Just curious though--why in the world would she agree to move in with inlaws she doesn't get along with? I know sometimes you gotta do what you have to do, but bad inlaws are notorious for ruining marriages and the health of your marriage should come first no matter what. This whole "staying away from inlaws you don't get along with" issue was heavily emphasized (to my suprise) in my LDS Marriage and Family class at BYU. I think it was even in the manual.

If they're both graduating from Law School, WHY are they moving in with the inlaws?LOL Everyone I know who has graduated from law school has started at $140,000 or MORE per year!! Anyway, I wish I were closer to Kaysville so I could help.

Well, I had thought that when you graduate from law school you get a job contingent upon passing the bar. Apparently that is only true for a small percentage. The rest have to live on loans for months while studying for the bar and then get a job only after they pass the bar. Anyhow, I think that's why her DH pretty much said "That's it. We're moving in with my parents." I got the impression that her opinion was not exactly asked or wanted. Anyhow, I'm not sure exactly what ward they will be in.

She's hoping it will be temporary until he passes the bar in the fall, but the parents are talking about going on a mission "sometime" and having them housesit so I can just see her DH balking at the idea of getting their own place if the idea of housesitting "sometime soon" is still floating around (much easier to stay with mommy and the comforts of home, if you know what I mean....). So there is actually no end date set for this little arrangement. Aack. He's a nice enough guy in a see-you-at-church sense, he really is, but this whole situation makes me say, "Are you out of your MIND?"

That is insane! I lived with MIL for a week and a half and she was out of town that first week. That was enough for me! JK! We get along nice enough and she will live with us one day because of her MS, but I couldn't imagine my sister in AR living with her inlaws. She lives behind them and that's enough to have her crying to me in tears on a weekly basis. I hope they don't have any little ones yet. That would be the WORST!
I'm sorry you are losing your friends!
