Default Insideout

My sister sent dd the Insideout cd "Primary Colors" for her birthday and it is awesome. For those who don't know, Insideout is an LDS a cappella singing group. Anyway, you should all check out the cd. It has a bunch of primary songs on it. We just love it!

Are they upbeat without massively changing the song? Emily Lara insists on having the primary songs playing a lot, but the standard issue primary songbook cd makes them all sound like durges! I'm looking for a good primary song cd that doesn't completely change the song.

Marianne,
I have one called Primarily for Grown Ups by Brett Raymond and it's pretty good too. He doesn't change them say as much as the Singles Ward or RM soundtracks change the songs. Infact, I think he has a couple of cds with primary songs on it. And I agree, the ones put out by the church are nice, but it gets old fast. I also have the cds of primary songs to go with each year's primary program. I think the Primary Partners people put it out every year? It's a step up from the one the church puts out.

Marianne- here's what the cd has on it:

Give said the little stream (really good version)
Eensie weensie spider (maya loves this one)
I'm trying to be like Jesus (really nice version)
Short trip Home (No lyrics - nice song)
We'll Bring the World His Truth (pretty good version)
I hope they call me on a mission (cute with an interview with a kid between the verses)
Never Tell a Lie
When You Tell one lie (both lie songs are pretty good, but I didn't know them before this cd, so I can't give a comparison)
Lullaby
I feel my Savior's Love (very pretty)
Smiles (If you chance to meet a frown...)
Books in the Book of Mormon (very fast)
Popcorn Popping on the apricot tree (extended version, but a lot of fun)
Once there were some snowmen (I really like this one, but don't know if you will... they go through and sing it about 12 different ways like poetry reading, old western, in Spanish, as the Batman theme, as a short rap, etc. I think it's a lot of fun. Oh, and there's a kid that sings it the "real" way at the beginning and the end.)

Anyway, overall, they're all changed a little, but I'm not disappointed in any of them except maybe the book of mormon one just because it is soo fast.

Huh. Sounds like a good cd, though! I should get my buns in gear and get over to Deseret Book to browse. It's all the way the heck across the water, though, and I never get there unless we're going to the temple (and we don't have time for such frivolity then!). Ah, perhaps on our next trip to UT.
