Default disruptive children in Primary

How do you handle disruptive kids in primary? Today was my first Sunday teaching the Sunbeams. I think overall it went pretty well, and I truly love this age group and calling! However, there is one little girl in my class who will do anything to disrupt things. She was pretty well behaved in class today. She didn't answer any questions, but she sat quietly and was still. When we went to Sharing Time she was WILD though! I spent pretty much all of sharing time trying to get her to sit still and do what she was asked to do. I spoke with the teacher who was just released from this calling, and she told me that this child never gave her any problems. Maybe she's just testing her limits with someone new? I see her so much outside of church though...I have baby-sat for her on ocassion, and she goes to school with my oldest daughter, so maybe it's that she is already quite familiar with me? Any suggestions as to what I can do to help her remember to be reverent during Primary?

It gets better with time, I promise!! I remember my first week teaching sunbeams, it was horrible, but by the end things went smoothly!!! Just be consistent and stay on them as nicely as you can!

I bet it is because she is familiar with you but unfamiliar with you in this role. Like Jeremi said, just be consistent and it'll get better as they get used to a new teacher. Also, I would recruit the help of your primary presidency. Shouldn't they be available to help out with disruptive kids? Esp. if it is for a limited amt of time?
