Default Meeting with the program director

okay I'll try this again...the computer keep s eating my posts.

I went to my appt at the college to meet with the director of the ASSET auto tech program. The program is a sponsored program with Ford Motor Company, after five semesters I will graduate with an associates degree in Applied Sciences. I will have specialty training to service all Ford Co vehicles.

The next class doen't start until August of 08 though. Right now I have to apply for one of the 26 slots in the next class and then find sponsorship through a Ford dealership/tech center. In the Fall/Winter semester, the first 8 weeks are in class, the next eight weeks are co-op in your sponsored dealership. They pay approx $7.50 (eek!!) an hour and you have to do 40 hours per week.

After I graduate many dealerships retain their sponsored students at full auto tech pay!! Also I would be able to take my degree anywhere in the country and work for any Ford Co dealer.

This year I can take some of the non-auto related classes, English, Health, Political Science, Business Management....
The ASSET program is full time. though if I got some of the other classses done I'd be ahead and have shorter days during the non co-op portion of the semester.

So my next step is the application for admission into the program!! Then obtaining sponsorship. Keep my in your thoughts and prayers that I get in. this is a very highly desired program in the tech industry!!!

Thanks...I really do want this. I'd only be the fourth girl to go through the program in 8 sessions.
