Default Intercultural/Interracial Books?

Well, JJ is a bit young to start reading, but I love to read to him. He is starting to look at pics too. I was just wondering, since I know most of you are experienced moms, what are some books that you read to your children?? Are there any favs? I am having trouble finding some books that deal with being interracial. I would like JJ to know about what it means to be interracial. Thanks in advance =).

Leza,
I dont have any interracial books, but have some african american books. I cant think of the names off the top of my head. The twins usually pick a character book to read...like Barney or Thomas....stuff like that. Im sure you could find good selection of african american books are borders or barnes and noble or even your library. When Soloman was young and I stayed at home we used to LOVE to go to the library. They had days where small children could come and listen to a story....very fun!!!

I have a ton of AA books....Its hard to find books that depict interracial families/biracial children....I have tried. There are some, but not many.

A great book is Please, Baby, Please by Spike Lee...he also has a book Please, Puppy, Please....and the illustrations are awesome!!

I can give you a few more ideas if you want.

I havent looked for interracial books at all yet, although that is a good idea Leza. I didnt have a shower while I was pregnant cuz Im not married and my mom didnt want to "celebrate" my pregnancy. So after Kaaliyah was born, when she was a lil over a month old we had a "Book Party" instead of a regular baby party or shower. We asked everyone to bring their favorite book. It was the best idea ever. Kaaliyah got over 150 books and she loves when we read to her!!! My mother watches her while I work and she reads to her everyday. Jus to name a few I like...I love you, Little Bunnys Bedtime, Oh, the places you'll go.
