Default Hi...Religion Question

I just remembered about this board.

Those of you that you and your spouse are two different religions, which religion are you raising your kids as?

My DH is Hindu. I'm Catholic. We've discussed this quite a bit, even before getting pg. I'm am just recently active in the going to church again. He's not active at all. We've decided to introduce both religions to the baby and later in life they can decide which they would like to continue on with. I'm very supportive of his religion being a part of the baby's life and he's so-so about mine. I don't mind though... but I do want him to support mine, like I do his. We have some work to do there, though.

Only one religion here, but I do have a friend that is catholic & her DH is jewish. They celebrate both religions. Neither really go to church or temple, but during the holidays they do both.

I agree with Jen, introducing both is a great idea. My fam is Catholic, but I, over years of attending DH's Christian Baptist church, decided to join. I love the church and the way the Bible is taught. I enjoy taking JJ and listening to the choir, we just have a great time. I guess I never really liked the Catholic church we went to, it never really felt like home to me. BUt that is just me and my experience. But, there is not that much difference between the two religions.

My dh is Christian Orthodox and I am Catholic, which are pretty much the same. I am pretty involved in church, he is not and until recently, he didnt seem to care, but now that we are expecting, he wants to baptize the baby in Syria so we can do it in his church. like i said they are pretty much the same, so its not a big deal for me, but hindu and christian are pretty different ( i am assuming, to be honest, i dont know that much about hindu) so your situation is a little more difficult, i agree with everyone else, try to introduce both religions to your kids and when they are old enough they can make their own decision. hopefully your dh will come around and be more supportive of your religion though good luck

Everyone~ Thanks for you comments.

Leza~ I kwym. The Catholic chuch I go to now doesn't feel really, really comfortable to me. But when I go back to the Catholic church I grew up in it feels very comfortable. It's weird.
