Rochelle,
Im not sure exactly what you are asking, but the rent/housing is unbelievable in my area. To rent a 3 bedroom house in a nice area is $2000+ a month. 2 bedroom Apartments are $1000+. Pay depending on what you do(obviously) varies. I work in an office...been here 8 years and made $42k last year. Gas is $2.50+ a gallon & traffic sucks. Im making So. Cal sound awful....LOL I love it here and weather/beaches make it all worth it!

Rochelle,
Here is Long Beach, CA we have extremes....VERY rich & very poor. Within a 10 mile radius you will see million dollar homes and homeless people wondering the streets. There is a lot of opportunity here for employment. Downtown Long Beach is booming right now and there building everywhere...high rise apartments, office building, shopping, restuarants. For the most part things are very good in Long Beach(5th largest city in California).

Decent paying jobs are pretty hard to find right now where I am. DH was out of work last year. He got laid off in Aug. He didn't find a real job until Jan. He worked some temp jobs here and there. The first month I'd say he wasn't looking too hard, but he did really look for 5 months.

Gasoline here is about $2.30 a gallon.

The downtown part of where I live in is going through some changes right now. We have a lot of Mexicans moving into the area. There is some growth there. Some Mexican resturants and stores. Hopefully that will help our economy.

Well, in Texas I have always buy gas on post. So on post gas was cheap off post gas was expensive. But the job market sucks big time unless you go job hunting in Austin,Dallas, Houston area and depends what your applying for as well. Here in NJ well the gas is expensive my husband and I go to Ft Dix, NJ for our gas because the gas is 2.73 and up. I think we were in Philly and gas was 2.93 pretty expensive.
