I've always been involved in church but for the last 9 years they have been military communities since we were in the Air Force. Well now that we're out I've had to go out and find a "real" church. Evidentally one woman with three kids calls some attention to herself. Every week at least one person comes up to me and comments on how good my kids are, how I must love them, and how proud of me they are that we're there. Dh isn't Catholic so he doesn't go with us and he works half the time since he's a fireman. But almost every week we're there. Two weeks ago one lady came up to me (we'd talked a few times in the past) gave me her business card, she's a massage therapist, and wrote a note on the back on how she's be willing to help me out with anything. It's such a wondeful community

My niece, who is 18, moved to Texas to live and go to college. She is a military brat. The one thing she has said over and over again is how friendly people have been to her.

I guess it is a Texas, or southern, thing.

That is so great, it is so nice to feel like you belong and are part of a friendly community
