Your favorite verse
Because of my desire to have Christian friends, even online friends, I am hereby doing my part to get this board going.
So my question is, what is your favorite verse and why?

My favorite verse is
James 1:5
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.
This is my favorite verse because I am a control freak and worrier. Sometimes I have to stop myself and remind myself how God is in control and His plan is perfect....so who cares about my plan! So when I am lost and confused, I turn to Him and ask Him what I should do. And wouldn't you know, He always has an answer for me!!

1"Stop judging others, and you will not be judged. 2For others will treat you as you treat them.[a] Whatever measure you use in judging others, it will be used to measure how you are judged. 3And why worry about a speck in your friend's eye[b] when you have a log in your own? 4How can you think of saying, `Let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,' when you can't see past the log in your own eye? 5Hypocrite! First get rid of the log from your own eye; then perhaps you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your friend's eye.
Everyday you'll find your self judging what others are doing. It reminds me how I'm no better. I don't know I guess it just hits me in a way I can't explain.

I'm really not that sure if i have one. There are the first 2 i ever got from God;
Romans 15:30-33 I urge you, brothers, by our Lord Jesus Christ and by the love of the Spirit, to join me in my struggle by praying to God for me. Pray that I may be rescued from the unbelievers in Judea and that my service in Jerusalem may be acceptable to the saints there, so that by God's will I may come to you with joy and together with you be refreshed. The God of peace be with you all. Amen.
Romans 16:17-19 I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I am full of joy over you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil.
Really brought me thru the early stages of my christian walk. I didnt have anyone at home who knew God at all so it was very difficult.
Ps 142, 143, bring me thru the really dark times.

My favorite is written in bold words on a card in my car so I see it anytime I'm in my car. It really helped me when I had negative or anxious thoughts during my last pregnancy to get back into focusing on God and not my negative/worrying/anxious thoughts. I found pregnancy to be an emotional stressful time since with Delaney I was high risk for her to be with Down Syndrome. I would repeat it to myself over and over to stop those thoughts.
Phillipians 4:6
6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
8Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. 9Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

I still find it unbelievable to think that God, the creator of the heavens and earth, would ever speak to me.
There are thousands of verses that are simply beautiful and make you just marvel at God.

We have been doing this Bible study for women. It is a book written by Angela Thomas and it also has a DVD with it.
Anyway, I have been raised in church, but when she read this verse, it was like a light bulb went off, and it is my new favorite verse. But before I tell you, to give you some background on the study: Angela wants us to all realize as women that we are all special to God and that he wants to take us in his arms and make us feel safe, and he wants us " to dance" with him through are lives. He wants us to hunger and thirst after his rightousness. He wants us to depend on him and not on any man. He is the only one that can fill that emptiness we as women sometimes feel.
Ok here is it Psalms 45:10-11 Listen Daughter, pay attention and consider:forget your people and your fathers house, and the king will desire your beauty. Bow down to him, for he is your Lord.

I have SO many that I couldn't ever pick just one, but I'll try. One of my favorite verses is this portion of Eph 3:20: now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think...
So many times I've prayed, and He's blessed and answered in ways I never could have imagined.

I have a few but my favourite is Jeremiah 29:11 "I know the plans I have for you said the Lord, plans to prosper you and not harm you, plans for a future filled with hope". God gave this verse to me when my marriage ended in February 2002 - I hold it tightly to this day.
