Not sure the scare tactic works well, better when ppl learn of God's love and want to know Him because of that, not just frigten into being saved so they don't go to hell.

For me it was good but i agree with what Becky said. Most people in the world either dont understand the concept of hell or simply dont care. However everyone is in need of help and everyone needs a saviour to rescue them. Personally i find that its better to speak about how "God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." (John 3:16).
Then again i have been to conferences where the scare tactic was used and it is very powerful if in the right context.
I remember hearing people say and seeing it written that people are more concerned about the use of the word 'hell' being used than where they are actually going.
Thanks for posting Halei. Ultimately it is the word of God and that is so powerful and who knows how God uses it and who has been saved thru it.
I agree with all that is said...but I think anyway you answer it. its says you are going to hell... and I dont think the questions make any sense!
Have you broken a commandment? Given to charity? Used a curse word?? It's all absolute...I've cursed, but I dont anymore, so that means I'm going to hell...and we all break commandments, who hasn't!? I think the questions should be more along the line of: Do you accept Christ as your savior? Do you believe the bible is the written word of God? Do you believe in hell? Those types of things, that are yes and no, period!
If we were perfect, we wouldn't need a savior.
I just thought this one was giving off the wrong vibe, making people think you have to be perfect or you're going to hell...but maybe that was just me!
I think what it was saying was that it doesnt matter what you do you cannot get into heaven by what we do, regardless of what it is. Its pointing out that all our good works mean nothing when its only "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast." (Eph 2:8-9).
Its also saying that even the little things like a lie mean that we have broken Gods law and therefore we are guilty. Most people look at only the big things like murder, adultery etc as the ones that lead to hell.
Basically we cannot be perfect and therefore we need a saviour and that has to be Jesus, there is no other way.
OHHHH, I didn't interpret it that way. But they does make sense!
I didnt finish clicking through the "next" buttons, so maybe it cleared that up later! I thought it was just saying"you sinned, you go to hell!"
I didnt pay much attention to the exact content but it ends up going into a whole thing about becoming a christian and the first steps. One problem with this one is that if you would have to be so determinded as there is a lot of reading. Nowadays folk dont have a very long attention span. However its better that it is out there and im sure that folk will have read it and that it has certainly moved people closer to asking Christ into their heart if not even bringing people to doing so.
Not related to this but 1 scripture that i love is
Quote:
It is true that some preach Christ out of envy and rivalry, but others out of goodwill. The latter do so in love, knowing that I am put here for the defense of the gospel. The former preach Christ out of selfish ambition, not sincerely, supposing that they can stir up trouble for me while I am in chains But what does it matter? The important thing is that in every way, whether from false motives or true, Christ is preached. And because of this I rejoice. Philiippians 1:15 (NIV)
or from the Message
Quote:
It's true that some here preach Christ because with me out of the way, they think they'll step right into the spotlight. But the others do it with the best heart in the world. One group is motivated by pure love, knowing that I am here defending the Message, wanting to help. The others, now that I'm out of the picture, are merely greedy, hoping to get something out of it for themselves. Their motives are bad. They see me as their competition, and so the worse it goes for me, the better—they think—for them.
So how am I to respond? I've decided that I really don't care about their motives, whether mixed, bad, or indifferent. Every time one of them opens his mouth, Christ is proclaimed, so I just cheer them on!
Ultimately all that matters is that the Word is being proclaimed.

For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. Hebrews 4:12
I think this site is absolutly horrible. You show ppl God through the way you live your life. Ppl who come to God because there scareed to go to hell are pppl who come to God for the wrong reasons. I have a relationship with Him because I love Him and I am in awe of Him and I want to serve Him. I think this site is going abou this allll the wrong way and truly I am disgusted why do you think society has a bad outlook on us??? Sorry that just kind of made me mad. Expecially since I took the test and it told me Im going to hell. If my bible is right Im not. Even so not the point. But anyways thats my 2 sense take it or leave it.
Another thing ...sorry... is that where did we come up with these formulas...like here is the 5 step to loving God. Im pretty sure I didnt need a manual to figure out how to love my huysband why would I need one for Him.
