Jesus, demons and Legion/Mob

In the story of Jesus driving out the demons in Mob/Legion (Mat 8:28-34 Mark 5:1-20, Luke 8:26-39), the demons ask that they are sent out into the pigs (who subsequently drown) and not into the abyss. Was wondering what happened to the demons after the pigs drowned? Did they go into other people or was that the end of them.

I havent found scuripture that says what happens to them, might have to wait till we go to heaven.

Here the demons beg not to be sent to the abyss (luke 8:31) which is refered to as the place where the beast will come up from in Rev 11:17 and later where Satan is thrown into in Rev 20:1-3. However Jesus also says in Mat 12:43-45 (also in Luke 11:24)

"When an evil spirit comes out of a man, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, 'I will return to the house I left.' When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order. Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that man is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation."

So basically i dont know. Anyone?
