Ill with Mastitis
Could my Christian brothers and sisters please pray for me, I have become very ill with mastitis, I have been in bed most of the day and hubby had to take the day off work to watch the kids. I have a high fever that I cant seem to kick and I hurt all over, as well as avery sore breast.
Please pray for healing.
Thank you
God Bless

Re: Ill with Mastitis
I'll pray for you. I've never suffered through Mastitis but I have heard it is NOT pleasant! Here's praying for a speedy recovery sister!

Re: Ill with Mastitis
LOL scratch the peas part, arg had engorgement on the brain. btdt that too! When I had mastitis I didn't move off the sofa, just nursed constantly, slept, drank tons of water, when I finished one glass hubby brought me another. When I wasn't sleeping I was nursing, drinking water and peeing from all the water I had been drinking LOL I also did warm compresses before nursing to help the milk flow.
(some useful info if you need it: http://www.kellymom.com/bf/concerns/mom/mastitis.html)
Hope you feel better.

Re: Ill with Mastitis
Have no idea what mastitis is (or btdt either) but will pray for healing Becky. Plenty of rest and plenty of time in the Word.
God bless,
Matthew

Re: Ill with Mastitis
Thanks, I feel a lot better, still a bit feverish.
Matthew Mastsitis is a blocked milk ducted in the breast, it can get red and sore and you can get very ill from it. Pwfaith thank you for the link I fell like I have both cases.. I have had it a few times, and was hosplized with it when Elisha was about 6 days old.
God Bless

Re: Ill with Mastitis
Just seen this, "Without effective removal of milk, non-infectious mastitis was likely to progress to infectious mastitis, and infectious mastitis to the formation of an abscess."
No wonder it hurts so much.

Re: Ill with Mastitis
Yeah - I'm glad your feeling better. It took a good 24 hours at least to get over it when I had it. If you do a search on that site for mastits it also comes up with information about recurring mastitis, she might have something on there that will help. Sometimes it can be what your eatting too like greasy foods (chips) or too much dairy. Something like that. Hope you feel better. I'd also suggest calling a Lactation Consultant or LLL if you don't feel better in a day or 2, don't want to let it go too long. Meds aren't something I'd suggest right away, only after you've done like what she suggested on the site - rest, water, nurse - and if it hasn't gone away in 24-48 hours.
Matthew - btdt - been there done that
