Default hi to ChrisLinMI

Forgive me if im wrong (my memory is poor) but welcome to the site, its great to have you here and i hope you are heavily encouraged by what goes on. Feel free to rant if you ever want to here, its that type of place (i do it all the time) and everyone here is so nice and friendly. At times its busy and at times its quiet and people float in and out whenever they can.

My name is Matthew (yes a guy at a womens site strange). Been going to Calvary Way in Ardrossan Scotland for 18 months, been saved since the 28th of June 2004 and was baptised on easter sunday 2005 and am co-host along with BeckyBeth. To me thats all the important info.

Below is the link to the Get to know you thread so you can read a bit more about the people here.

get to know you thread

Again its great to have you here and i hope you feel very welcome.

God bless,

Matthew

Thanks Matthew! Glad to find a site that I can talk about my faith! I have been a christian for 10+ years but have only taken it seriously for last two years. Baptized June 2004. Working really hard this year to finish reading the bible for the first time. I am on track to have it finished by Dec 31st! Which is very exciting, as I feel I just can't move forward until I have some background. I always feel so lost in the bible study classes I participate in. Its great now that I am reading because I am recognizing stories and characters. I go to a wonderful non denominational church in Michigan (USA). It is helping me to grow spiritually and helping me to develop a closer relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ! Looking forward to networking and fellowshiping here too! Thanks for the welcome and hello to all that visit!

No probs. Please make yourself at home. Have tried to read the bible thru in one year but it becomes a ritual and therefore pointless - you know must read now and not take any of it in and its useless. Theres a difference between being disciplined and being a ritual.

Its a cool place to be, your freely open to discuss anything and ask any questions. You would have a hard job asking dafter questions than ive asked and the people here are very much full of wisdom and knowledge and know they're scriptures.

Stay around, enjoy yourself but more importantly keep growing in the Lord.

God bless,

Matthew

I feel this way on and off. I feel like if I can just get through the Bible ONE time completely...then I can pick and choose which areas I want to go more indepth to study. I feel like I can't do that until I have the whole overview. Almost done!! Can't wait! Looking forward to doing a study by Joyce Meyer on learning to Hear God.

We have bible studies at various times during the week as part of the fellowship so that certainly helps. One major stumbling bock i have is when the historical records come with the long lists of family ties ie 1 Chronicles, have no memory and so find it so difficult to read thru it. I get completely lost.

Have read a very large portion of the bible, its mainly the prophets that i havent read but its a case of that you can read a verse twice and get two completely different angles from it and never tire of reading them.

God bless,

Matthew
