Default Easter?

just curious - how do each of you celebrate Easter? at church, with family etc. i'm interested to hear about all of our traditions.

our church has a Good Friday service at night, and then of course Easter Sunday. Last Easter, with no family around, we were invited to an "orphan's dinner" of sorts - a bunch of us who were alone in the city got together at one couple's house and had a great time, both believers and nonbelievers together.

this year - i am not sure if Bri and I will host the "orphans dinner" or not, but we are hoping to do something similiar since many of us are in the same boat again. i also want to send cards and cookies to some of the people from church. For Brian and I, and now for Josh, this is bigger than Christmas because it's the fulfillment of what Jesus came to earth for, kwim?

Hi there. I'm new to this board and was lurking and thought I'd reply.

We go to church on Easter Sunday (well every Sunday unless kids are sick) and then we go to my Grandparent's house for an Easter Dinner (late lunch/early dinner).

Calvary Way is staging a play for easter saturday about the life of Christ, i would also think that there would a be a celebration on the sunday and those available will be taking part in the walk of witness on Good Friday along with the other churches in the area - a time when the churches stand united and proclaim together that Jesus is alive. There will also be many services on over the week leading up to it on at other churches to go to.

Family-wise wont be doing anything as they arent saved.

Personally i think Easter is more important than Christmas as its when Jesus died and rose again, the backbone/foundation of our faith.

God bless,

Matthew

We don't go to a church, but we do spend time with family. We usually do a big Easter egg hunt for the kids, the Easter bunny leaves stuff hidden and then we have a nice dinner.

We haven't a set thing we do yet. Now we have kids I think we want to put more thought into the meaning of Easter.
