Just wondering what your church is like!
Since I grew up in the Catholic church this was never really a question, they were all pretty much the same!

But I love hearing about the different ideas churches have and the programs they have, etc!!

Calvary Way is a Pantacostal church in Ardrossan with about 35 folk who attend regularly. We are very family orientated and it really is a big family where everyone knows and gets on with everyone. Its noticed if someone is not there and so we can make sure that they are okay.

Currently we are seeking ways of how to serve the community and make the Gospel known to those who live in the nearby area. God has led those who are available to go out on a sunday after the service and have lunch outside and play games with whoever comes to say hello. It really is an incredibly simple way to reach kids. At times we tend to over think how to go out when with God it can be so simple.

Wow...and I thought my church was small!
My church is baptist in that it agrees with all the same beliefs, but nowhere anywhere does it say Baptist on anything! It is basically a church for the unchurched and totally different than any church I have ever been to!

We have three services, the Saturday service is in a neighboring city and members pick up kids from the lower income neighborhoods and bring them to church! Our services change every week so that its harder to just go through any motions. We have small groups, called Hope Groups, that meet once a week in homes! And what I LOVE is, I live in a college town, so its really easy to only see college kids, but our church really stresses intergenerational fellowship and not intragenerational...if thats a word!!

I love hearing about new things churches are doing!! I'll be praying for your church!

I know what you mean, we are a small church. Ages ago i had this thing where i kept saying "we have a lack of numbers" but then God said "you have 35 people imagine how much of a difference that can make if you are all united and going in the same direction". I now realise that its not about how big your church is, its how faithful you are to God and what He says to do in your area to make Him known.

What do 'intergenerational' 'intragenerational' mean? I do like the words.

Hope you are well and your walk with God is enjoyable.

God bless,

Matthew

Sorry I didn't explain that much!

I meant to say: it's NOT a lot of college kids do this, older people do this! It's very much everyone work together. For example some churches have different services for college kids, etc. At my church it's very important to not seperate off in only people of your age!

And by college town I mean....over half of the population goes to the university here. I mean the name of the city is College Station, lol!! It would be very easy for me to only see college kids everyday!

We just started attending a new church about 3 months ago when we moved here to NC. It's pretty big, several thousand. Lots of upbeat praise and worship - with electric guitars, drums, etc. We like the pastor a lot, good sermons. they have a good chidren's program too.

we go to a

"church of God"

pentecostal, lively worship. a good children's program, my dd goes to "kinderchurch" and ds goes to "kid's church" for the morning services. the evening services are much smaller, and the kids are in the sanctuary with the adults.
