Re: Checking in to see how everyone is doing
Between mid November and early January it was awful and at one point i had decided to stop, i couldnt go on anymore. Thankfully the Holy Spirit kicked in and kept me going, it was not me in any way. I knew that if i didnt go to a meeting one thursday night i wouldnt be back and it was so tempting to just go home. I actually said i was going home to myself. However God got me to the meeting and kept me in the race. It got a lot worse after that, God broke me time and time again and they were the worst two months of my life, but He was faithful and has brought me thru. A lot stuff has been taken away, some i have not to do anything about, his timing, and above all i now know that He is here for the long run and i am here solely for God, no one else. I also now know and believe that God does love me but now not because of who i am but because of who he is. Gives you a tremendous freedom knowing that its not dependant on anything that you do.
Thats why i will say dont give up, keep going, because it may seem too hard to go on but God is faithful and will bring us thru. It is worthwhile. You cant really say something like that unless you have been there, it wont wash.
God loves you, it really is that simple.
In this all-out match against sin, others have suffered far worse than you, to say nothing of what Jesus went through—all that bloodshed! So don't feel sorry for yourselves. Or have you forgotten how good parents treat children, and that God regards you as his children?
My dear child, don't shrug off God's discipline,
but don't be crushed by it either.
It's the child he loves that he disciplines;
the child he embraces, he also corrects.
God is educating you; that's why you must never drop out. He's treating you as dear children. This trouble you're in isn't punishment; it's training, the normal experience of children. Only irresponsible parents leave children to fend for themselves. Would you prefer an irresponsible God? We respect our own parents for training and not spoiling us, so why not embrace God's training so we can truly live? While we were children, our parents did what seemed best to them. But God is doing what is best for us, training us to live God's holy best. At the time, discipline isn't much fun. It always feels like it's going against the grain. Later, of course, it pays off handsomely, for it's the well-trained who find themselves mature in their relationship with God. Heb 12:4-11 The Message

I read this last wednesday and it really impacted me.

Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe. Phil 2:14-15 NIV
|
We can shine like stars for God. How amazing is that. Stars can be seen billions of miles away so how brightly will we be shining for him if we live for him the way we are asked to here on earth. I perfer that to being a lamp.
God bless,
Matthew

Re: Checking in to see how everyone is doing
Jill I seen the pics they are cool!
Matt I am glad you relise God was helping, teaching you rather then blaming Him.
Things with hubby and I are good, they are getting better and I feel I am starting to heal. I still have 'why is he being nice to me' thoughts and is it ok for me to start to trust him again... I need to trust God plz pray that God can help me trust Him.
Ty

Re: Checking in to see how everyone is doing
Glad to hear things are better for you Becky. It takes time to build up trust, especially if there has been hurts and a breakdown in a relationship, but thru God healing will come and you will be stronger together. I will pray for you.
God bless,
Matthew
