Today I had to go to the grocery store at a peak hour. It was crowded. I get panicky at crowded stores but thats another topic. So we were exiting one aisle and as I left it I noticed Eddie and April were still behind. I called them to hurry. Eddie was slow in coming out as he was trying to drag his sister along(I had Isaac in a cart with a broken strap, had to stay with him). So as he is trying to get her out of the aisle, the woman waiting to get in that aisle decides to hurry him along and hits him with her cart. I feel like I should have handled it better and worse at the same time. It isnt really good for my kids to see me call a woman a f*!%king b!tch, but if I were in front of her cart I would have pushed it back at her. KWIM? Ugh, I was so nervous as was bieng in a crowded store while trying to keep my kids with me and I feel like I could havehandled it better. Ugh, I still get mad thinking about it.

OOH man I would have been PO'd and probably would have used some choice words as well.

She hit him with the cart... ohhhh I would have been fuming.. I would have called her a blankity blank as well. And probally more. What did she say when you called her that I hope she would have appologized after hitting your kid with her cart. grrrrrrrrrr I am so mad for you.

Wow, that's really rude of her to hit your child with her cart! I am also curious what she said when you called her the name?

Well, let's say maybe you could've handled it better, by not calling names, but are you sure she intentionally did it, or was it just an accident? Maybe she didn't see your child, or maybe i need to re read your post, lol. Did she apologise? You know, sometimes I feel that we are no better if we call someone a name. I know you look back and feel as though you could've handled it better, so it may do no good for me to even say that, since you already know. I hope this isn't taken wrong. Maybe you could've said something like, "Excuse me Ms., what do you THINK you're doing, you just hit my child with your cart! Or something to that effect. That way you don't come off looking just as bad as the woman who hit your child with her cart. Ok, you weren't nearly as bad as her, but you get what I'm trying to say.

I am so sorry your child was hit. I can't believe how rude some people are!!

Not taken wrong at all Lisa. She did know she did it. She was looking at him as he came out of the aisle. He then stopped and turned around to be sure April was coming behind him and when he turned around she decided to shove him a little with her cart. When I did that, she didnt say a thing. She didnt even look at me, just went about her shopping. I wasnt going to stand around and make her pay attention, I just went back to shopping so I could get out of there. I hate crowded places. Especially with kids on the loose.

I'm glad it wasn't taken wrong. I know what I said could be, and I'm glad it wasn't.

I hate crowded places too. It doesn't panic me. It just irritates me very badly because people get in my way. I am not generally a leisurely shopper. I like to get in and get out so I get impatient with those who are stopping and blocking the aisle etc.

However, I would never hit anyone, especially a child with a cart. That is beyond rude IMO. And Lisa, you are right, name calling doesn't help. But I know myself, if I was already stressed from shopping in a crowd, trying to keep track of three kids etc I would've snapped at that woman. I am a mama bear when it comes to my kids too so that would be another factor.
