Long Signatures
I have dialup internet, it's bad enough to load this SK's site up, let alone miles of signature in a four post thread.
I know, I know, I'm pushing it with my current signature now (which most likely isn't the one your seeing now if it's a few weeks past the OP date)... but some's signatures are like two pages long! My scrolling finger hurts, damnit!
There's an enforced rule for signature width... why not one for length?

Re: Long Signatures
Sorry you have dialup...
Are you not able to get faster speed?
If not that's one thing, but then again if you are able to and don't, it's like posting from a Commodore in the 80s and wanting everyone to use equipment that goes as slow as yours...technology moves on, baby!

Re: Long Signatures
I know what you mean. I have fast speed but still am annoyed with having to wade through a mile long signature to try and find the post. Some are so intricate with quotes and blinkies and pics that I just skip the post. My favorite one recently is one that is just a long (very, very, long) and very narrow signature of tiny pics that you can't see the faces very well.

Re: Long Signatures
I dont like it myself especially when i see five tickers and few rows of blinkies plus 2 or more big pictures, but i dont complain when there is a simple solution:
User Control Panel -> Edit Options -> Thread Display Options ->
UNcheck : Show Signatures; Show Avatars; Show Images.
DONE - fast and easy scrolling and browsing.
I believe there is no max for the lenght in pixels beacuse it would be difficult to specify when there are pictures AND text. The only max for lenght is 1000 characters.

Re: Long Signatures
I kind of agree. There are some who have really, really long signatures. I have a pretty fast connection, and I really do like seeing everyone's little cuties, but some sigs are exhausting with the pics and the 15 blinkies and the 2 or 3 little cartoon representations of themselves and the tickers for everyone and everything, etc. Of course, I have a pretty big signature myself, so I probably shouldn't talk.

Re: Long Signatures
It's easy to turn off all signatures but I like looking at people's families and animals just not all of the pics ever taken or having to wade through their geneology charts i.e. blinkies, tickers, quotes etc. I really enjoy seeing the creative ones that show off some pretty talented skills. I wish I were talented so I could do different signatures say every week or 2 and then I wouldn't have to put all the info I ever had on one lol.

Re: Long Signatures
oh i agree with nubian_queen37!
I also enjoy seeing pics and cute siggies, thats why i dont use that feature - turning off siggies (was saying that in case somebody didnt know it exist), the only thing i dont like - too many tickers/blinkies, huge pics, too long/too many quotes - alltogether.
