I'm going to sound like a very mean and witchy lady right now, my apologies right away! But I'm just so pissed off at my MIL at the moment. At the last minute, as in last night, she calls to tell us that she'll be stopping by this weekend to spend Mother's Day with the family and to take advantage of the good weather we've been getting. She didn't ask, just assumes that we can accommodate her! She does things like this all the time, just expects the world to revolve around her own whims and ideas. And so I need to get our house clean, rearrange my plans for the weekend, cook. I didn't expect this and it just irritates me so much. And she's so demanding when she's here. Always complaining about how dirty my house is and how rude the kids are (it's because they weren't raised in a household where children are treated like slave labor). It just drives me nuts! But thank you for bearing with me, it felt good to get that off my chest.

I totally understand, sister!!!!!

I totally understand. You are a better person than me because I would have told her that we already had plans and would not be able to accomodate her this weekend. I simply don't put up with stuff like that.

Sorry to hear about your demanding MIL. Mine can be a sweetheart but she needs a really clean household too, more clean than what my husband and I keep it. She even gave us a Roomba last Christmas. Nice hint, huh? Have strength this weekend!

I really understand where u are coming from. I don't even speak to MIL. I can't stand her. She would point out every mistake I made with my kids or my cooking or house work. Funny thing is she didn't even raise her two boys. I had enough and told her flat out "If she has nothing better to do with her time then point out all of my flaws then she can stay the heck away." when the nice approach didn't work I told her to mind her own business. She got the picture. It only took 6 years.
