Re: Blinky thief....
Krise,
That is the price you pay for being on a public board. People will do that and there is really nothing we can do. It sucks when you take the time to make a cool blinkie but look at it like a compliment that someone liked it so much that they lifted it.

Re: Blinky thief....
If you don't want someone to take you blinkies, isn't there a way you can "block" anyone from taking it? I know there are times I right click on something and it basically tells you that you can't have it. Don't know how to do it, but know it's done.

Re: Blinky thief....
I just think it is rude to steal a blinkie that someone worked so hard to create. How rude.

Re: Blinky thief....
I think it's rude too. I would ask and what's worse is if she is using your bandwidth. Find out if she is hosting it herself or using your url. You can say something about it either way. If I like the mona lisa, I don't walk up and take it! Art is art. And bandwidth theft is also NOT cool.

Re: Blinky thief....
I love when they put no right click on a page. In netscape just bring up the page coding and ou can see where the link to the image is.

Re: Blinky thief....
Can that code really be entered into a signature on Vbulletin? I'll have to give that a try! I know on ezboard (God bless them), you could put code into everything.

Re: Blinky thief....
Please let me know if the code worked for you It can be bypassed but if it was, the person would know you didn't want it taken and would have to go thru a few extra steps to get it.
It would be great if Javascript did work in our signatures! Oh the possiblities!

Re: Blinky thief....
Guess Im the odd one here, I couldnt care less if someone took any of my blinkies! The one in my sig is stolen, however I asked for it in email and in private message and on the board, the person never responded and never even came back to the boards again, so after like 3 months of never seeing her again I took it. Oops!

Re: Blinky thief....
Well, Idont mind if someone were to take mine either...although at the moment I dont have any posted. I do though have a problem with someone taking without asking and it upestting YOU. Now thats not cool. Its one thing when you publiclly give the ok but hwen you work hard to have somethign nice in your siggy its just not right when someone takes its without asking...might as well come to your house and take your car.

Re: Blinky thief....
ITA. I had someone steal an avatar I had made back on the old EZboards. She saved it as a .jpg, so it was all blurry and ruined (oh well, at least that proved who made it first). I didn't want to say anything, so I changed mine. She was still using it when the boards moved to She Knows and we can't use avatars anymore. Grrrr.

Re: Blinky thief....
Sarah - I THINK I know the original creator of that blinkie, and she has a blinkie site anyway where you can snag them, so no big deal!
When I first joined the boards, I had no idea that they were called blinkies, so didn't know where to get them - thus, I just stole everyone elses...oops. Hope no one minded thinking back on that.
I couldn't care less if someone stole mine, but then again I have a blinkie site where I give them out free anyway. I can understand if someone spent a long time making one just to have it taken without even a note asking first.

Re: Blinky thief....
Stealing Blinkies is a big NO NO on messages boards and its the unwritten rule.. Whenever I wanted one I would either ask for it or have them make me one...
