For those of you who are married or have been in a relationship for a significant amount of time, how soon did you know that your SO was the one and you could be falling in love? How did you know they were the one?

I hear of some people who meet someone and say to a friend, "I've just met my husband/wife." and it ends up that way.

I hear of some people who say they couldn't stand their mate when they first met them.

So do you believe in 'love at first sight' and what is your definition of that? Is it still love at first sight if you don't actually feel that "feeling" until you start to get to know someone but before even a month has gone by?

I knew within a matter of weeks that DH was the one for me... We got engaged 2 months into our relationship and then married 9 months after that.

I was crazy about DH within 5 minutes of meeting him. I knew I could marry him after our first date. We were married within a year and have been so for the past five. Still madly in love. I think that if you don't know that you want to marry within a year you should be looking at the reasons for that and perhaps move on.

Engaged at 5 months but we knew at about 3 months into our relationship. We were married at 6 months and we just celebrated a very happy 5 years of marriage.

I knew about 5 hours after I met him.
