Conservative (or liberal) in your opinion?

For me it is as follows:
ISSUES
Pro-life
For less government power and more power to the people
Less taxes
Limited restrictions on arms
Against affirmative action
Against raising minimum wage
Against gay marriage, for civil unions
For the war against terrorism
Pro homeland security (Patriot Act)
Pro school vouchers
Against government health plan
Against death and marriage taxes
Support death penalty
For increasing funding for military
Against legalizing any illegal drug
Pro faith
Support pre-emptive action against terrorists and other threats
Against rewarding illegal immigrants
For allowing options for social security
Against federal funding of stem cell research that involves destroying embryos

PERSONAL
Pro traditional family
I wouldn't use daycare services or sitters other than family members
Pro homeschooling
Pro physical discipline
Christian
Pro SAH/WAHM
Feel it is parent's responsibility to instill values in my children, not the responsibility of a school or a program.
Feel that a mother or a father should be home as much as possible for children younger than school age and should then work while children are at school.
Against "latch-key" families.

GREAT question!

#1 Pro-life (even if the Dem's saw things my way on every other issue, I would never support a party uses my tax $$ to butcher babies.)

#2 Strong military/pre-emptive action (I come from a military family, and this is a close second because the military needs to be better funded and less encumbered by regulations)

#3 Fewer taxes (flat tax, please!)

#4 Less gun control (I'm an NRA die-hard!)

#5 Smaller government (the fed. govt is chipping away at states' rights, in my opinion)

Ok.....I do have a question on this....As far as the NRA/Gun laws go.....What is it that you guys want changed about the gun laws and why??? I think this is a very important issue that I really should consider. My DH is an avid hunter/gun collector, and we have never had an issue getting a gun???

I think most people who are pro 2nd amendment don't want gun laws enacted like the ones in DC and Chicago, who have really really awful crime rates. I'm not against gun control, period, but I'd like to see the countless number of gun laws already on the books, enforced. I'm a law abiding citizen, my gun affects nobody else, period.

As for the question, what makes me who I am? Here are some of the things that make me a Libertarian:

I think everybody should have the right to do what they want with their own bodies, when it comes to anything, including piercing, drugging, suicide , seatbelt laws, etc. I don't think the gov't should protect us from ourselves. As long as nobody else is being harmed, butt out.

I think people should have the right to privatize or opt out altogether of social security. It's a sh!tty retirement plan , plain and simple. You lose money, especially if you don't live to be 100.

I think people should have the right to marry whoever they want to marry. It doesn't affect me.

I believe in my right as a law abiding citizen to own a gun and protect my family if necessary.

I believe the war on drugs is a joke and keeps drug dealers in business. Look at how well prohibition worked.

I believe the govt has over extended their roles.
1.) small govt .. more efficient less wasteful
-> People must be held accountable and learn that they will not have govt take care of them forever.
2.) Defense... this is one thing that govt has a role in.
3.) Judicial branch.. another area that has overstepped its bounds... to interpret not creat laws.

Most important issue to me:
Security.. heck without that nothhing else matters.

Health ccare souns all well and good.. but in reality if govt gets involved we will all have Crappy health care.. why should a company offer it if the govt does... Even John Kerry said he is going to offer an alternative to "high quality high cost company sponsered healthcare).. hello!!! THat means I get cheap and sh&*^y health care because of him and PAY MORE FOR IT!! (Via taxes)

I don't take part in govt programs as I don't qualify but fact is a private organization gets more for their buck than the govt...

Small govt rules... taxes should be minimal.. I earned it not the govt.... I don't want or need your services..they suck including your schools for the most part... PC brainwashing my kids.. I am tired of it.
