I truly think it is hate Bush. I mean for most to say anyone but Bush that is crazy. You don't vote for someone because they are not someone else you hate. I mean if that is how they feel then why not vote for Mickey Mouse!

I think it's all of the above, mostly power though. When they're powerless, they foam at the mouth. They think they should be given the power, whether the representatives are voted in or not.

Do you really think it's hate? And do you really think it's limited to just the liberals? I mean, I've had some things attributed to my character (just because I said I was a Democrat) that couldn't be further from the truth. So where does that come from? And does it qualify as hate?

(not trying to start a debate...just curious what you think from the Republican standpoint)

I do think it is hate when a person calls another stupid and give those as their reasons despite the fact the person is an Ivy League graduate. I do think its hate when faced with facts (Dems and Reps alike .. other nations Russia, Germany, England and Yes even France) all said IRAQ at WMD and yet we still hear he Lied and decived us on purspose... There is alot more.. but when faced with facts and to justify positon conspiracys are touted as normal (There are a heck of alot more of them than before) I think its hate.. not just dislike.

But then again I think it would not matter what Republican is Prez.. I think ALOT not ALL but ALOT of the loudest people we hear would be just as loud... it is about power... Not even what is best..
Example: Kerry says he has a better plan for the War on Terror and he can bring in more allies (note I said more because I don't insult our current allies but not couting them)... if he really has a better plan what is it? Why hold it close to chest he has been in the legislature for 20 years why hasn't he spoken up before ... if he can bring us more allies then why doesn't he? Why wait till he might get elected.. sounds self serving or ... a load of you know what.

Wanted to add that I don't see how a person can deny its hate speech when people wish him dead (Bush) or never being born? Or compare him to Hitler.. personally the people who do the later should study history a little further.

Ladies, I may have a different political viewpoint from yours, but I would definitely not be "hatin'" on John McCain if he were in the White House right now. There's just no denying that he is a noble and intelligent person, whatever his affiliation.

I think that sometimes it's hard for us to understand each other, but ultimately we care about the same things, right?

See...I don't see it as hate to call someone stupid, despite their education. Some of the stupidest people I know are lawyers...go figure. Yes, it is hateful to wish someone dead or never born. I have not, thankfully, run into this sort of message or it would have disturbed me as well.

The comparison to Hitler. Bad taste...and ridiculous...I will agree with you. But hate? People make goofy comparisons all the time. Does comparing someone to Hitler automatically qualify as hate speech? I guess it could...depending on your personal view. Again, I come back to the shady nature of 527's that allows candidates or their campaign staff to be involved in sending these kinds of messages under the radar of campaign oversight.

You have somewhat of a point about the Kerry stance on allies. But I think his message (at least what I've gotten from it) is that he plans to seek out allies whereas the President has pretty much written off all allies...or at least it seems that way. And as long as the President is unwilling to bend on his opinions about allies, it makes no difference what anyone does to try to form alliances. The point being, President Bush is the one who turned his back on the allies when he did what he wanted without their consent (right or wrong)...so they aren't about to come back to ally status as long as he is President. Who knows if it's true or not?! I don't even know a single person in France...so I couldn't tell ya.
