HOw bad it could get... even with Bush's tax "cuts" i have found that I pay 1.5 time what my DH pays on my salary which is almost 1/2 that of his.

So.. basically there IS a marriage penalty.. its built into our tax system in that the smaller income is taxed at a higher rate....

Just so frustrating... I thought I made pretty good money but when you consider all the extra taxes we pay because I work and the expenses associated with me working... its not anywhere close to what we thought.... I think i work for about $1000 a month when its said and done.. and that still has to have groceries, church etc... taken from it.. so ... Hmmm I guess we are rich though... according to the goverment because we don't have to go further into debt each month????
Sorry but isn't something wrong with this picture.

(Sorry I haven't been posting much.. my youngest (now 4 months old) was born and had some health problems.... my life has been chaotic at best.

It is sad. I think if more people would have no taxes withheld and had to write a check to the IRS on a quarterly or yearly basis, there'd be more outcry for income tax reform. It's sickening.
