Default An observation about the election

Howdy.......

I had an observation, and since I know the democrats troll here, I thought I would share.

On the news shows, all I keep hearing is analysis of why John Kerry lost the election. They say that the republicans got the word out better that the democrats did. I do not agree.

I think the democrats got their word out fine. They have a media machine that is very effective, especially when you add hollywood, and the musicians, as well as the millionaires like Soros and others who formed numerous 527 groups.

The problem is not that their word got less than pubs. It is because their idealogy is contrary to what the majority of Americans believe. In the last 30 years, really since the Carter Administration, we have seen the democrat party track further and further to the left where as they used to be more centrist. Democrats in the 60s and earlier would be considered Republicans today. Kennedy championed tax cuts in the 60s which stimulated the economy for example.

Gay marriage, partial birth abortion, socialized medicine, appeasement in foreign policy, environmental facism. By and large, Americans do not want ANY of these democrat party platforms. With the addition of players such as Guilianni and Swarzenegger, the Republican party is more centrist today and the democrat party is slipping off the radar with their extreme leftist policies.

You are so right. I have always said that the Republican party of today is inline more with the Dem party of 40 years ago. I think that the Dem party has gone way off of its base and needs to find a way back to the middle. Clinton goverened as a centrist and that is why he was able to serve 2 terms. Kerry was too liberal. I think that America saw that he was a pacifist on foreign policy and was fearful of how he would defend us and our children.

Thanks for the great post and welcome!

I usually post under my wife's name, JuneMomAmie. It is too annoying to log her out and log me in. But she was already logged out this time.

RevDaddy welcome! I agree with you as well.

You'd think they'd stop crying and ask themselves a very few simple questions about the message they are trying to sell to the American public.

You'd think they would try to understand that you can't just say ... 'I got a plan' or 'I would do it better' or 'I could do it quicker'.

You'd think they would stop moaning and realize they are rapidly becoming the Liberal Party not the Democratic Party.

You'd think they'd realize that you cannot tell religious people that because they go to church every Sunday, that they are weird or intolerant or unenlightened ... these church going people know more about bigotry and intolerance then these over indulged children will ever know.

You'd think they'd realize that you cannot tell 80% of Americans that 2 men or 2 woman constitutes a marriage, in complete contridiction of biology.

You'd think they'd realize that you can't tell Americans that we need to ask the French and the UN if it is 'okay' to defend ourselves.

You'd think that they would spend their time trying to understand how to modify their message to appeal to more Americans rather than telling Americans that they should modify their perspectives to become more in line with them.

Very interesting post(how's your wife btw?) I'm not republican but wanted to see what everyone is/was saying after the elections!I also find it amusing that no one is acknowledging that the youth were also split during the elections!Everyone assumed if more young ppl got out to vote -Kerry would have won!In actuality the 17% that did vote-didn't overwhelmingly favor either candidate- it was 50/50!Then you have the Jews that backed Bush(b/c of his support w/ Israel)! Then you have your everyday common conservative citizen that voted for Bush b/c he resonated w/ them!Somehow I find it very confusing as to why the liberal media is saying that christian fundamentalist(although more came out to vote b/c they actually had someone who spoke their language to choose from)is the reason(ONLY) Bush got re-elected
I heard this morning that a lady voted Bush simply b/c she got tired of being labeled"weird" by the liberal media for the values she holds! It seems everyone wants to be heard, but no one wants to understand the other(on both sides)Both sides have equally slinged mud,but it does seem that most liberals don't want to acknowledge that they are discriminatory of ppl who adhere to a different belief system as theirs!

I guess ppl just want someone...anyone to blame ey
I admit-I would be upset if kerry were elected but I wouldn't resort to all the name calling, speculation, demonization, that I've seen from the media and message boards alike! We all have a right to vote for who we want!Alot of mis-directed anger going on......

Hi Kellie! I think that the hispanic vote rose 7% and the A/A only about 2% for Bush. Thanks for your post. I think that a lot of conservatives see where liberals are coming from and they simply disagree. I see the liberals being out of touch and refusing to see our side because they think that we are idiots. I see the need to demonize us more. Maybe it's because they tend to be more emotional? I honestly don't know. I think that it is silly to say that Bush only won because of his morals. I am sure that it had something to do with it, but I also believe that his policies won this for him. I hope that America can come together, but I honestly don't see it. Unless we have another attack like 9/11. I think that we can blame most of this on the partisan media. Nobody is getting just the facts anymore.
