why do protestors often wear masks or bandanas over their faces?
I mean, yeah I'd probably be embarassed to show myself if I were involved in some of these groups, but you'd think they'd be proud of their own causes?? On the other hand, and this might be true for a great deal of them, it's just hip. They've seen footage from other protests and maybe they want to seem edgy?

I don't know why they would wear bandanas over their faces. But looking at the pics and after watching too many 80's plane highjacking movies... They look alot alike.
I think it may be that they are in some ways ashamed and don't want anyone to see a picture somewhere and pick them out.
I am bummed we were there in the middle of the month and missed it; I would have made myself, Joe, and Loralei some pro-W shirts to wear! No hiding behind a mask here!
I think think it's the hipness factor. Being "hip" is easier then thinking with your own brain. I think it's hard to look edgy with a pig nose straped to your face. But what ever makes their curly tail wag!

I guess that makes sense, but wouldn't they go for something thicker? I remember when I still rode my motorcycle, when I rode at night, or in the cold , I'd wear one over part of my face to keep my face warm (which wasn't effective) and to keep bugs out of my mouth (which worked).
