Icon8 amnesia? Have they forgotton HR 4655?

I can't believe how the news agencies have criticized Bush about the war. They have apparently forgot about the Iraq Liberation Act of 1998. I keep waiting to hear someone bring it up and no one does.

That and my normal morning news station has me ticked off. Instead of the correct sentence "the latest casualty of the war..."; they started the sentence "The latest victim of the war...". Victim? I believe that is like spitting in the eye of the soldier they were doing the story on. He died doing his job in a war. These people want to make EVERYONE into a victim!

H.R. 4655- Oct 31, 98:
Became Public Law No: 105-338.
Signed by President.

I like the first line of the summary-
"(REVISED AS OF 10/05/98 -- Passed House, amended)

Iraq Liberation Act of 1998 - Declares that it should be the policy of the United States to seek to remove the Saddam Hussein regime from power in Iraq and to replace it with a democratic government. "

and this gem-
"Expresses the sense of the Congress that once the Saddam Hussein regime is removed from power in Iraq, the United States should support Iraq's transition to democracy by providing humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people and democracy transition assistance to Iraqi parties and movements with democratic goals, including convening Iraq's foreign creditors to develop a multilateral response to the foreign debt incurred by the Hussein regime"

I got this from http://www.iraqwatch.org/government/...lation/ILA.htm

Sure the law doesn't say go to war. But how else were we supposed to accomplish the directives?

I am in such the mood today. These bozos at work were listening to Stern again. That and I am surrounded by anybody but bushies. What chuckleheads!

Wow, thanks for bringing that to our attention.

By listening to a few people, you would think that Iraq was a wonderful place and S.H., was never our enemy or a threat. DH was watching the terrible movie 'Armegedon' the other night and in the beginning when all of the meteors were hitting the earth a man shouted, "Sadam Hussien is bombing us!" I then turned to my Dh and asked "now why would they put that in a hollywood movie? We all know that Hussien would NEVER attack us."

Lib's also forget that Clinton fired a few hearty bombs on the Iraqi's heads when Sadam refused to let the U.N. inspectors in. If they all knew that there were no WMD in Iraq, then why did they support the UN going in and searching for them and, most importantly, why did they stand idly by while Clinton was bombing the hell out of them? I just don't get it.

Of course, you could take into account of what Jeanene Garafalo said.."It wasn't hip to protest Clinton"

I also work with a bunch of bozo libs so I know how you feel.

Kerry might suggest we invite them over here for tea and crumpets so we could talk it out.

Oh yeah and I agree with your news station vent. I'm so sick of liberal news. What happened to fair and UNBIASED reporting?? If you want to express your own biased views - Get your own show!

Libs always forget Clinton dropped some bombs over there. I remember that fireworks show. He fired the missiles and then ran away. And he did it to bury the news he was getting blown in the White House closet when his wife wasn't looking. Nice.
