I read this article online this weekend about why they chose him:

A couple of quotes almost made me laugh; especially the reasons they chose him

"Many, many Americans deeply wish he had not won," Kelly said. "And yet he did."

"....for reframing reality to match his design, for gambling his fortunes — and ours — on his faith in the power of leadership."

Reframing reality??!?!?!! Maybe this is supposed to inspire awe or maybe I'm interpreting this wrong, but that doesn't seem like an admirable trait to me.

Time wanted to name OBL as man of the year last year....... They name someone man of the year because they have had a large impact on the world, not necessarily a positive impact.

Dubya probably sees it as a mandate but for bad or worse, he's had a tremendous impact on America. And I'm not drawing any parallels here, but Hitler also had a huge impact on Germany . . . Ok, ok that was bad, I know. I understand why they did it but I hate it all the same. I can't help but think this is going to add to his already big head.

Like Jen said, they base it on who has made in impact in the world and in the media. I don't like it because I hate seeing his face or hearing anything about him. I am sure there are a lot of people shaking their heads in disgust over this.
