Icon4 please vote for a woman's right to choose

I'm a Democrat first and foremost, but I'm also concerned about Senator Obama's record on a woman's right to choose.

I thought this problem was addressed by the Obama campaign's response video, but it appears that his video (presented by a former NOW president who is possibly now anti-choice) was entirely misleading, based on new information.

During Sen. Obama’s 2004 Senate campaign, the Illinois NOW PAC did not recommend the endorsement of Obama for U.S. Senate because he refused to stand up for a woman’s right to choose and repeatedly voted ‘present’ on important legislation.

As a State Senator, Barack Obama voted ‘present’ on seven abortion bills, including a ban on 'partial birth abortion,' two parental notification laws and three 'born alive' bills. In each case, the right vote was clear, but Sen. Obama chose political cover over standing and fighting for his convictions.

These present votes are seriously disturbing and all of us should be aware of the facts before voting. Please pass along this information to any of your friends who may be interested. Thank you.

Thanks, I didn't know about his voting record. I did vote for him yesterday, but this definitely makes me less enthusiastic about him.

I was for Hillary before I read this now I am even stronger in my resolve to see her into the White House. I just think Mr Obama has a lot of pretty words but not enough substance behind what he says.

I'm not a very big Obama supporter, and truly hope to see Hillary in the White House.

Well, Hopefully she can take the Pennsylvania primary and get most of their delegates. They are a big blue collar state and that is traditionally were she has done best. If she can get the momentum going her way maybe she can continue to win states and then win Florida and Michigan in the re-do. They showed what would potentially happen would be a dead heat and the super delegates will have to be coaxed one way or another. If Hillary pulls of those wins she has a good chance of coaxing them her way, if she falters in even one big state, it will be all over, she just won't be able to have enough delegates. It has been a very interesting political year. I really don't want Obama but if he is the Democratic candidate he is who I will vote for because I will not vote for McCain and the war. Enough of you young men and women have died already. It is time to start bringing our troops home. We need more troops in Afghanistan hunting Bin Laden and that is so not going to happen while our military is stretched so thin. Don't get me wrong, I support our troops, I don't support the war.

Which is annoying, a lot of people that I know think that because I don't support the war I'm degrading our troops. It's rather insulting to me actually. DH doesn't support the war either, but here he is enlisting to serve his country. I don't appreciate some people's opinions sometimes.

Only time will tell at this point. Hillary won here in California, I have done my part so far.

Yes, It is annoying that people think that. It is down to our president who keeps telling people we democrats and anyone who doesn't support his war are not patriotic. That really gets under my skin too. I am very patriotic, I just hate that he drug us in to another countries civil war. I hope we start bringing home troops before your dh gets out of training. What is he training for?
