Default Hi ladies...

Hi ladies just lurking over here trying to find similar people who think like me! My regular board has just gone haywire and I cannot deal anymore with it ... I proudly voted for Kerry here in Atlanta hoping to make a difference .... as did my hubby who voted absentee for NY since he is active duty military ... at least NY had some sense! Thats why I am proud to call myself a NY'er till I die!

Anyway 4 more years of Bush just tears my insides up... as a military spouse, a 2nd grade teacher, a woman, and a mother .... its hard for me to imagine these next four years ... there are so many things that offend me about Bush! I was particulary upset over Georgia, and the other states it was on, passing the amednment that marriage is between a man and woman ... I proudly voted no! My husband and I are interracially married and to me, saying that gays should not be allowed to marry is like going backwards in time when blacks were not to associate/marry/befriend whites! It saddens me ... I worry about what my daughter will grow up with? My only hope is that democrats take over in 2008!

Well just wanted to pop on and join the group

I agree with you, we moved here to Alabama about a year ago I'm originally from the Wash DC are and so voting for the first time in a repub state was so different. I will never understand why the poorer people of this country who Bush ends up hurting the most are the first to vote for him because it's the religious thing to do. And now just learning that I'm pregnant it's scary to think of what kind of world I'm bringing a baby into. All I can do is hope 2008 will be a change.

I know for me, I'm determined to work toward a more positive future, even though I'm scared right now. I can't do less for my kids.

Welcome I'm frightened, but like Cheryl, I'm trying to be positive and work toward the future.
