. . . is going to eliminate the health insurance deduction for businesses? He also wants to eliminate the individual deduction of state and local taxes. I'm not sure how many people the indiv. deduction is going to affect but I'm sure the health insurance deduction is going to affect a great deal of people. It's going to raise the cost of health care for businesses who will pass part of the cost on to its employees . . . so I guess in the end, the individual gets screwed anyway, huh?
And this is what Bush said in the
Washington Post a few weeks ago:
"If there was a need to raise taxes, I'd say, 'Let's have a tax bill that raises taxes,' as opposed to 'Let's simplify the tax code and sneak a tax increase on the people,' " he said. "It's just not my style. I don't believe we need to raise taxes."

So, he's not raising taxes, but he is eliminating deductions that will result in people paying higher taxes?

Sounds like a technicality to me.
