Default Sewing... who likes to sew?

I've done mostly quilting in the past few years which is sewing but just making quilts. I've recently bought some patterns to make some baby girl dresses. It's been forever since I've made clothes. I recently bought a ruffler for my machine so I don't have to gather by hand, has anyone else used one of these? I made a quilt last friday that has thin gathered inner border and a ruffled edge. It was so much fun using my ruffler and it will be so easy to do ruffles on little dresses or whatever elses. I have queen size quilt I'm going to finish for my mother or grandmother and I'm going to make a matching dust ruffle for the bed.

I also just ordered a cording foot that will sew on a string of beads. I haven't played with this other foot that sews on cording free motion style, I'm going to make an apron for my step that that will write something on it in cording. I have a foot fetish

I just converted my office into a sewing room. I have a folding cutting table, a desk with my serger on it, and a regular sewing cabinet for my machine and storage for fabric and notions. It's still basic right now but I'm sure as time goes buy I will pack it full!

So who else sews? Where do you sew? What's your favorite kind of projects? Do you make them for pleasure or to sell?

I wish we could get this board moving a little. This is such a great way to exchange tips and ideas. I'm a beginner in some areas of sewing and intermediate in others.

I sew on a daily basis! I have my own website that I sell my handmade items on. I do hair bows, baby gifts, pettiskirts, tutus, custom clothing and lots of other things. Pettiskirts have become my latest passion. I love making them and of course I love putting them on my DD whenever she is willing to wear them! Here's a pic of her favorite one, I'll have to get one of her actually wearing it!

I have a Bernina Artista 630 Sewing/Embroidery Machine that my wonderful husband bought me for mother's day a few years ago and I also have a hand me down serger that my mother in law was kind enough to pass on to me whenshe got a new Bernina! I love to sew and I make an outfit or two on most days, mostly pillow case dresses for my daughter.

That little skirt is just adorable! I'm a Bernina fan too and I'm considering upgrading soon. I have a Bernina Virtuosa 153 Quilters Editions but I would like to upgrade to one with a stitch regulator. My serger is a Bernina as well but I can't remember which one. I've wanted to get an embroidery machine but my mom has a home professional Janome and I can't justify the cost when I can just use hers and she's down the street.

I have the stitch regulator and it if fabulous! So worth the money. I'm ashamed to say, though, I don't use mine at all anymore since I haven't done any quilting in such a long time... maybe I'll get it out again since I kind of forgot about it until you mentioned it! I love making the pettiskirts. They are a lot of work, but the end result is so worth it! My daughter has several and I'm getting ready to make another batch (3) for a photographer friend in exchange for some professional pics for my website!
