Aren't they adorable?! I made them from the
www.darlingdiapers.com pattern.
Three months ago I tried to make a pair of soft soled shoes for Nathan. I used a free online pattern that didn't go all the way up to his size and looked really fat so I tried to alter it and follow the directions. It took forever to make a single shoe and it turned out aweful! lol It didn't fit at all. I was so dissapointed that I never made the second shoe!
Shortly after that I got the Darling Diapers MiniMoc pattern but I've been so busy sewing diapers I haven't made another pair. Last night I found the time to do it!
After I did the first shoe the second was a breeze! The second shoe only took me 20 minutes and the pattern was really easy. I didn't have Nathan's feet or ankles as he was sleeping but the shoes fit perfectly on both!
I love this pattern, I love all the pictures she has included and that you can print it out as many times as you want! I love her diaper pattern and I've loved her diapers for over a year, I guess I shouldn't be surprised that she hit the nail on the head again!
Well that's about it, just wanted to share my long awaited success with soft soled shoes! This material has a giraffe and elephant on them so I think I'll make co-ordinating pairs with each animal and then a suede pair once I find a skirt at the thrift store.
Oh and this isn't me trying to drum up businesss for Darling Diapers, she's actually out of the diaper making business for a while except for selling her patterns.. it's just me showing my sewing friends that I can make something I'm proud of!
By the way, Nathan wore these ALL day! It was so cute! And the first thing Dan said when he saw them is that they are incredible and he thinks they look better than Robeez! You have to love praise like that!
