Over three-quarter’s of a million Americans seek medical attention for dog bites every year, and this doesn’t count the many others that go unreported. Though it is easy to blame the dogs for this dangerous behavior, the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) says it is up to people, not dogs, to stop dog bites. This year, take part in Dog Bite Prevention Week May 18 – 24 and help spread awareness that can ensure your family’s (and family pet’s) safety as well as those around you. Here are AVMA’s tips to prevent dog bites.
