My Cousin Cori was pg with her first little girl after 2 boys and she was 37 wks along.

The doc checked the amnio to see if lungs were mature but they didn't seem mature so he said wait another week.

Two days after that her baby stopped moving so she went in & delivered her baby girl already gone because the cord choked her to death hence the reason why the lungs seemed immature because she was having trouble breathing in the womb because of the cord.

If the doctor would have checked cord flow he would have sent her to the emergency c-section area and her little girl would be alive today but he chose the wait and see approach . I would be like that idea may be good if the mom isn't full term but when babies show lung immaturity it shows something else is going on .
