I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this, but my husband is working in CA and my 3 kids and I are still in TX. I need to fix up my 1971 house to sell quickly. The problem is, I need to do this by myself. My husband can't come here to help me. I don't know anyone who could help me except maybe my neighbor down the street. I'm sure she would help me paint. I don't have experience with painting, but I'm sure if I use white I can't go wrong! What would be the cheapest way to fix up my home and get out to CA as quickly as possible? If any of you have gone through the same situation, I would appreciate hearing what you did about the situation. Thank you.

Paint is the best place to start and of course you really can't go wrong with white!

I worked in a program where we set up houses to be sold and a few little 'tricks' that we would use on homes to make them look bigger/better. . .

Pull all furniture 4-6 inches from whatever wall it is against. This makes the room look larger.

Houseplants!!! Take away any knicknacks you have and put a houseplant there. Minimum of 3 plants per room. It sounds wacky but I dare you to just TRY it in one room - you'll see.
