My daughter is nearly 10 and is starting to have an interest in boys. How old do you feel a child should be before allowed to have a boyfriend?

I'm not really sure to be honest, but there's a big difference in what is considered a date at 10, and then at say 16. My parents didn't let me 'date' until I was 16, but that really didn't stop me I guess.

I wasn't aloud to date until I was 16. My first date date was on my 16th B-day!

Hailey won't date until later either.

I didn't date until I was 14 and mostly that was group dates. I don't think I'd be comfortable with calling it dating at 10... that's just a bit early IMO

are you seriously considering letting your 10 year old daughter have BF?! you know statistically the younger your child is when you allow them to date the younger they will be when they start...if you are aiming to have a sexually active 13 year old then by all mean let your 10 year old start dating, otherwise i would hold off till she's at least 16. besides how do you go on a "date" when you're not even old enough to drive yourself on said date?
