The verdict is in, and I still have a certain ringing in my ears! I appreciate all the suggestions from everyone on how to share the news, but a perfect opportunity presented itself before we went to dinner. We both come from very, very big game families which is probably how we both got so addicted to scavenger hunts in the first place, and I mean from board games like monopoly, clue, and life to pictionary and another of my all time favorites, charades! We got to the IL's a couple of hours before we actually had reservations like we normally do and someone brought up playing charades and DH and I both pretty much had the same idea, all of our ideas that we put into the hat were baby related and we wanted to see if they could put two and two together
[dh even wanted to go as far as potty training which i just about died with laughter watching]. Let's just say it took a while for things to catch on, but when it did, boy did it ever? I think it was maybe the fourth go-around and I was doing my best impression of my mom's attempted humor of her own deliveries when it was like someone turned on the lights in her brain and I could literally just see it all registering. It didn't take long until she was practically shrieking! But in a good way, I thought she was going to hyperventilate! I have never seen her jump off a couch like that and I thought she was going to tackle me to the ground. Of all reactions I expected from my mom, that wasn't one of them, I don't know why but I guess I thought she would take it a little quieter than she did. But right after that Rob's mom caught on and joined in what was about to become a Heather-Lynne dog pile while in tears. The best part was watching our father's figure it out, they were a little slower on the uptake, but the general consensus was

"
OH MY GOD!! You're gonna have a BABY!" in volumes I never thought possible from anyone. It was a lot of commotion, a lot of excitement, and made for a great dinner afterwards. Today has truly been exhausting for all the right reasons, and it's been a whole heck of a lot more than I dared to ask for. I think Heather Lynne is a little overwhelmed right now!
