DH ended up going with me, along with one of our roommates who drove; it was a packed car. And let me tell you, I could hardly stop crying. I haven't seen my girlfriend pretty much since our graduation; she hasn't been able to come visit home since she left for college in Colorado because she's been working like crazy on top of school. It felt so weird to talk to her on the phone and say "I'll see you in a couple of hours", but her flight was delayed about an hour and it had me all agitated, like!
On top of that, either on her flight or one that got in at the same time, there were two U.S. soldiers flying home. The family standing next to us were waiting for their son with their grandson who was absolutely adorable with their welcome home sign and I just burst out into tears again. I'll be there one day, with my sign waiting for my Airman to come home.
But my friend is now here

and I am in desperate need of some sleep sometime soon. I may not be around so much this week outside of when I'm at work, so long as I'm not swamped.
A few random pictures from the day, just for fun:
We put one of those little umbrella things in the back of his hat on the drive there
[well, i did, stick in the back alone since Rob is too tall to sit back there]
She literally jumped me when she saw me, and I feel bad for the people who were behind us, we practically toppled to the ground! She let go for one second and I got ahold of her bag and then it was all hugs again!
DH is so nice! He took over lugging her luggage around.
And then he took over lugging me around, along with her luggage!
