Hey Dulcie!

Hope the madness settles somewhat after the move.

With four kids, I can hardly imagine peace and quiet--lol...but hope that once the move is done you can get some R&R in.

Are you still hitting the gym when you can--or is life devoted to packing...gawd I hate that too...LOL.

Good Luck, and pop in after the move!!!

actually..i dont have to pack, dhs company is paying hte movers to do it! i just have to pack the things they cant pack...cleaning supplies, paints and strippers, medications and such..so not much. ill be getting boxes next week for that.

id been working out most everyday. then we spent 2.4 weeks in pennsylvania and i didnt have a chance to go workout..though we did do plenty of walking! tomorrow i start back for the next week, with hopes i can do some good! i havent been feeling all that well, probably stress, but who knows.
i do get a few hrs quiet when they are all in school, but when we move mckenna wont be going to preschool, so thats going to be hard. im trying to talk dh into letting me send her 2 days a week, but hes holding strong.

Hey Dulcie, great hearing from you. We miss you here. Where is that picture taken in your sig? Hope you have a great move. Dh's brother had a moving company move him and they even packed his garbage in a nice brown box.

Hope things slow down for you after the move. How is you new house, is it bigger than your old house? What a bummer that you just added on and then had to move. You really did a lot of work to your house. Is your new house move in condition or do you have to do some work too?

picture was taken across the bay of lower manhattan...we were in new jersey, just had to cross the bridge. its where the world trade centers stood. at that spot, when you turned to the right, you could see the statue of liberty.

the new addition should help our house sell. though its been on the market for over a month now and we have had no lookers.

the new house...built in 1958 and has never been updated on the inside, well we found some walls have been painted, but not for the better!!! ill post some pics for you... its a great house though, needs paint, and the basement needs work, but other than that, its a great house. its a bit bigger than we have now, but thats because it has the basement.

front of house

living room-- the blinds are going! i need to get some better pics, but this is all i have right now. on each side of the fireplace are these big nooks...not a clue what to do with them right now, but all well lol. the front door is to the right of the pic, has a really pretty stone floor, but you cant see it because there is no light there!! it has a large coat closet too. im looking for some curtains right now, probably a blue and green plaid (ive seen them on tv, they said where they were from, but i have to go and see if i cant find them in teh store!), walls are going to be a tan. dh has a mantle here that he is going to hang.

dining room..has 2 doors..one from the living room and one from the kitchen (it has an actual shutting door to the kitchen) the window goes to the garage though. i want the same blue and green curtains in here and im thinking of painting a slate blue or a darker sage green

kitchen..this is the room that needs the most work. the tile is going (i dont like it in the kitchen!), the cabinets are going to be painted white, looking for new hinges and knobs. the walls are going to be painted a light yellow..i have some blue toile and striped fabric to make into curtains... the brown fridge will be replaced next week, we had to buy a new fridge, freezer on the bottom. im thinking beadboard backsplash or even white tiles..not sure which. when we move im going to find some white plates and have the kids put their hand prints in blue and hang those up. oh and we have a microhood (microwave over stove) on order that will be put up. closer to the front of the pic is the garage door, which will also get the toile and striped curtains. to the right of the pic is the door to the hallway, yet again another regular door to close (there is also one in the living room from the hall...at first i didnt like that, but after staying there a few days, i loved it!), oh and new floors will be put in.

first room down the hall from the kitchen, almost across from the living room is the girls room. the one thing i do not like is that theres a door in here. we are working on getting locks and an alarm on it. they want it painted sky blue... kyler has harry potter and mckenna has princess bedding, so this should be interesting. the curtains i just put in their new room most likely wont work sigh... i cant find more for the door window..ive thought of full length curtains for the door too.

next down the hall is the bathroom. original tiles, they will stay..i actually like them in the bathroom (just not in the kitchen!). ive got 2 different fabrics for the curtains, not sure which one i will use..gotta hang them up to see. this is the only bathtub/shower in the house.

theres a nice linen closet next to the bathroom. then theres the boys room. not a clue what colour they want...but im sure we will come up with something, depending on what colours they pick depends on the curtains. they have an okay size closet..the girls is actually much bigger. needless to say we have to buy dressers now as none of us have them and we will need them.

turn the corner and theres the master bedroom. its huge! we bought a king size bed (which i have problems climbing into lol) and we still have a lot of space!

i have this quilt for our bed

walls are going to be painted a dark tan/khaki, im looking for tan and red striped curtains.
the master bath. the previous owners took out the shower and put in a hutch, we are going to take out the hutch and put in the shower lol. i think im going to take the tan through to the bathroom and probably even the curtains.

heres the hutch (which makes that bathroom tight!)

then we have the basement. to get to it you have to go out the kitchen door into the garage and the stairs are right there..which is weird, but its okay. there is another door downstairs. i would say it cuts down on noise, but it doesnt because the air vents in the floor. for awhile my craft stuff will be in the back corner and the kids toys will be down here. we hope to eventually frame it all out into a craft room, study, family room and bathroom and carpet it. that floor is cold!

backyard...we love those backyard! the back shed was used to put the firewood, we are going to put up some plywood and make a playhouse for the children.

okay in that above pic where the boys are at... they are actually throwing rocks into the creek... its kind of decieving in this picture..its about 8 ft down, needs a ladder to get down! its nice though because you step outside and you can hear it bubbling

so theres the new house. like i said, needs paint. we are getting it for a really good price though and we are actually renting it until our house in missouri sells. (and we are getting it way cheaper than what dh was paying for rent for a 2 room efficiency). which is why we are moving so soon. while we were visiting we moved what stuff we had and dh had there (basically some clothes), and then i bought the new bed, and dh has his computer and borrowed a tv from work (free cable!). so poor dh has nowheres to sit right now.

dh will be here come the 12th late. on the 11th mckenna (4yo) has her half bday party and her going away party. then on the 12th the other 3 are taking cupcakes for a party with their classes..nothing like ordering 9 dozen cupcakes!! i just didnt have time to make that many(nor the energy). then we will be having dinner with my family on saturday, sunday all day at church and then monday the movers come and start packing. they are supposed to be here monday and tuesday, but i dont see it taking that long to pack and load. we will leave soon after i get everything cleaned up behind them. its a 2 day trip...well 16 hrs, dh wants to do it in one swoop (probably because we will have the dog, 2 cats and 2 hamsters). between the both of us we can do it. that friday we have a meeting at the new school, monday they will start and they get to ride the bus (im not happy about it, part of me doesnt want to give that up). our furniture will be delivered between saturday and monday..so they may have a few extra nights on the air mattress but its better they start right into school and get settled. they are already going to miss a week.

wow this got really long!! now i need to shower and go to bed, im exhausted

What a great house. Thanks for sharing the pictures. I absolutely love the fireplace, I am so jealous. The flooring is also so nice. You have such a charming house. Your bedroom does look huge. I also love the creek in the back yard. The kids are going love playing in it. Best of luck to you and remember, the move will be over soon.
