Icon10 Daily Check-in: Saturday April 5

Hello all my friends,
Well is everyone starting to experience warmer temps where they live? We were in the 50's yesterday so I got outside with the kids to get some fresh air. They played in the sandbox and on the swingset. Mom caught up on some reading. I am really tired tonight...only got 4 1/2 hours of sleep before work tonight so I'm feeling really out of it. Long story but the jist of it is my kids kept coming in and waking me up, flicking light on and off, opening and shutting door, and jumping on me. So DH plans to make it up to me today by letting me sleep all afternoon.

Talked to dad again yesterday (he called me) and he just wanted to tell me how much he enjoyed our visit the other day. He also said in addition to Deluxe membership kit for WW and food scale he is also buying me some new walking shoes for my birthday My birthday is May 4 but it's coming early for me this year So I've gotta get to the sporting goods store and find some really comfy shoes. Any good suggestions from anybody as to good shoes? He is being very generous. I'm very grateful. I was reading a book today called Life is a celebration..are you celebrating, just getting along, or suffering? There's a whole section on Taking charge of your life with some great info in there. I realized I've just been coasting along for the past year and a half. Unless I am willing to leave suffering and just getting along behind I will be unable to change. It's time to leave my regrets behind and enjoy small gains and keep on keeping on. I've allowed anxiety to overtake me but no longer. I'm learning a lot about myself these past couple weeks. Awareness for me right now is huge.

Jen- Thanks for emailing me those recipes. It is so inspiring to see your attitude be brighter the past couple days and the motivation returning. For those of you who don't know Jen and her daughter are visiting me not this coming week but the following week. So we'll probably check-in together. YOU CAN DO THIS JEN! You are a strong woman..

Dulcie- Thanks for the WW info...I'll pass it along to my dad so I can get it and start using it.

Allison- Way to go this week with your exercise and eating. I'm proud of you. Hope you'll be able to catch up on your schoolwork and not get too bogged down. Was my format for this post better for ya?

Susan and Maria-Where are you guys?

My depression continues to slowly lift. I did feel a bit today but I think that was more sleep deprivation than anything else . Well that and my older daughter was really teasing her sister...that's so unlike her. I see my therapist on Tuesday this week and it has been awhile so I think that will be good for me. Then DH and I got in a fight before work because he didn't do a damn thing to settle the kids down while I was trying to sleep before work and now due to hardly any sleep I'm at more risk for an IBS attack tonight. We talked it out and everything is find but it really pissed me off. Oh well I'll get over it.

My plan for this coming week is:

Do treadmill on Mon and Wed at 6am
Do treadmill on Tues and Thurs while kids at school
Weather permitting I will start walking kids to and from school...it's a good couple mile
walk
Work on upping water intake
Follow points on WW religiously (will have to go grocery shopping this weekend)

I thing that's it for now. Feel free to write if up early. I love to hear from people

Kara

Sweeeeeet my new favorite song is on...Madonnna's 4 seconds (to save the world) Have you guys heard it? It so rocks!!

Yes me AGAIN
Had a thought. Since I can't show you guys a pic of the dress how about I plan on posting a pic of me IN IT from her wedding day. I have no clue how to post pics on here but I'm sure I can figure it out between now and November eh? Maybe Jen can show me when she visits. Then you can all see for yourselves how HOT I looked in it...fit, trim, and healthy

Hi Kara!

So glad to hear that you're on an uphill trek. That's great that you and your dad are on the mend to. Sounds like he's happy to be in your life and supporting you. :

Allison~Great job on your workouts...you've been doing great. I've been lurking but no time to post lately but you've already surpassed me on the elliptical... I need to catch up!!!

I've been out straight at work and with homework. I'm doing work work at home and the other day had to finish my homework at work... on Thursday, I'm printing it out as I'm heading to class and had to "wing" most of it because I didn't have time to finish the reading. But better a "check-minus" then no check at all. Gotta get that "A". I read a bit more while K-Bug was in Girl Scouts (they meet at the local library) and realized that my answer was wrong... Too late... Just too many deadlines and too much work...I might have to approach them about someone part-time...

Today is another busy day... I need to pay bills and to clean house and haven't had much time for either!! K-Bug on Thursday had to go to school in a dress (she likes to dress tomboy-ish for school) because I had no clean pants...luckily DH washed some for me Thursday night! Today, K-Bug and I are going to an American Girl Fashion Show at 10am (even purchased a ticket for her doll and they have matching outfits), from 1:45 to 2:45 pm we have Mother Daughter Dance rehearsals for dance recital, and from 4 to 6 K-Bug has a birthday party at a hotel with a swimming pool. Which means we will have to stop home in between each to change our clothes as they are all very different in "dress attire" and none of these activities are in the town we live in!! A lot of driving around too! It's going to be exhausting!!! On top of all that, I never bought a birthday present for the latter and am hoping to find something at the AG fashion show that will do...yeah... I'm in dire need of a "real" vacation!!!

No big plans today as the day is very unknown...

Food: Hoping I can make some good food choices today as I'm not sure what they are serving at the American Girl...Also, lunch will be on the run as will dinner...(they might be having pizza at the birthday party)

Exercise: Elliptical and Day 1 -- I'm feeling a bit "squishy" lately. I skipped Thursday and Friday to get work done... it's all encroaching into my personal time...

Water: Need to up this...just don't drink enough and I know it's the reason for all my "hunger"...

Daily Plan: Don't stress and enjoy! I'm having a full day with K-Bug!!!

Have a Great Healthy Weekend Everyone!!

Kara, haven't listened to Madonna since she sang "Like a Virgin"... I really don't know any new music unless it's country... DH likes to listen to his 80s metal.

It would be great to see you in the dress... did you take a picture of you trying it on? Would be great for a before and after!

For pictures you need to put them in a separate location like "photobucket' and then have them linked in.

Maria-
WOW you are busy girl. Sounds like a fun day with K BUG. I'd like to get to a point where I can do things individually with my girls....cuz right now it seems like they come as a package deal Really gotta work on that. As far as the dress goes you know I took my camera with and had it in my purse and then totally forgot to take a before and after . The dress will be in by mid May so maybe I'll take a trip up to Eau Claire and have them take a pic of me in it. We'll see. Yeah I'm upbeat more these days and am glad my dad and I are mending fences. Despite everything I do love him and I know he loves me. Life is too short to hold grudges I think. I think that's funny you bought K Bug's doll a ticket That totally sounds like something I would do. Anything for my girls. I definitely need to utilize my support system now more than ever before as this is gonna be one hell of an uphill battle with me kicking and screaming all the way . Have fun today with your daughter...you deserve it

I had a long night lol. Dhs pager kept going off! He went to 2 house fires and one car accident. Then at 8am he got paged for another house fire. Ugh. He may be off call for work, so his fire pager is making up for it! That thing is SOOOOO loud too.

I was starting to worry about you Maria, you tend to fall off the board and fall off your plan at the same time. Glad it was just because you were busy and nothing else.

Warm weather? lol. I wish. Although it is 45 here already.. checking the highs.. maybe I can wear capris today. 43 feels like 38 high of 59... hmmm. Think it still might be a bit chilly for capris lol. I hope it starts to warm up, in 2 weekends we have our first event, and we may just freeze at night! Gotta make sure we pack warm clothing.

Im not sure I have all that busy of a day. Dh and I have a lunch raffle to go to. He bought the tickets awhile ago. We get lunch at 2...not a clue what it is. And they draw tickets throughout the time.. yah Id like to win $100.. and you can win more than once. Dh wants to win a gun.. nope I want cash!!! Then a friends bday is tonight, but thats not til after kids are in bed around 9. Going to take it easy on the drinking tonight! Im not sure Im going to drink at all lol. Im sure Ill get talked into drinking a shot or 2.

Okay kids need bfast... going to make them Mickie Mouse pancakes. THen I need to hit the shower.
