Default Daily Check-Monday March 31

Good Morning!

Well I have a new motivation for my weight loss. Yesterday I found out that I received a substantial scholarship to study at the University of Pittsburgh and in Slovakia this summer. I don't want to be sitting on an airplane for 10 hours or traveling through Europe being terribly overweight. So now I have to seriously buckle down instead of playing around with this. I have two months until I go to Pittsburgh and 3 1/2 months until I leave for Slovakia. No more one day on plan and two days off. Every day has to be on plan.

I've eaten terribly for the past 5 days and feel awful as a result of eating like that.

I hope everyone has a good day. I'm going to make sure the kids are getting ready for school and get my behind on the treadmill.

Morning Allison.. how exciting on your scholarship!! I do have to ask though.. I know the Slovakia one requires you to go there.. how long will you be there? And what about Philly? Will you be in Philly for a bit? How does your dh and kiddos handle you being gone and abroad?

I did my Pilates abs this morning. My abs hurt. I was going to ride my bike to work today, but its raining, so thats a no go. I will be going grocery shopping after I work so wont be home til about time for kiddos to get home. Hopefully we can get out of there early... that requires my receptionist to do her job properly, so chances are pretty low!!

Dh just submitted his application for a job transfer. He has 2 options.. he will try this one, if it doesnt pan out, then he will go for the other. Either way is fine. I was going to go back to school, but Im going to have to wait. We should be moving between August and Dec lol.. depending on which job he does get. I prefer the August one!!!!! I love working for WW, but theres a lot of BS that goes on behind the scenes too. Ill continue being a lifetime member and going to meetings, but after August I will no longer be working for them. Just wondering when I should tell my boss!! They have noone to replace me as of now. Im going to wait and see what happens with this job application of dhs and go from there. Id like to stay at my job til we move, but not sure even when that will be. All depends on house selling too. Once we move its part time job. Ill work part time job for a yr until we get full residency, then I will go back to school, if I still desire. Who knows... may just be a wild bone in me lol.

I did 30:00 minutes on the treadmill and burned 250 calories - then I did 20:00 minutes on the elliptical and burned 112 calories. That is a total of 50:00 minutes of exercise and 362 burned calories.

Dulcie - I actually will be traveling a lot between May and September. From May 13- May 17 I will be in Kansas City, MO for a genealogy conference. All four kids will be home with my husband since they are still in school. Then I leave for Pittsburgh the weekend of June 7 and start school at the University of Pittsburgh on June 9. The kids will stay here until they are done with school. I will fly back the weekend of June 21 for the kids dance recital. Then the two younger one will come back to Pittsburgh with me, Joshua will go to Georgia with his father, and Jessica is staying here with my husband because she wants to get a job this summer. My younger two will stay with my mother while I am in Europe. The Pittsburgh portion of the program ends July 18 and then I head to Slovakia for four weeks until August 15.

The Philadelphia trip is the week of Labor Day so I will be in Philly from September 2 through September 6. To top all of that off I have to find time to go to Washington, DC for research at somepoint in the middle of all of this.

Geesh - I'm tired just typing all of that. The kids don't mind me being gone. They are all looking forward to their respective summers as well. I've always raised the kids to be very independent so they have no trouble with me traveling. Don't forget this isn't the first time. I spent 6 weeks in Russia two summers ago when the youngest were only 3.

Phew... wore me out just reading it! I dont know how you do it, thats for sure.

I just turned in my resignation to my boss for WW, told her my last day will be June 24th. Wonder how long it will take for a phone call lol. Im sure shes not going to be happy, but what else can I do? And I dont know if we are going to move or not, its so up in the air right now. So I figured Ill just do it this way. Dh isnt wanting me to work at all, but I know Im going to go crazy, I already do on the days I dont work. So maybe I can find me a job that i work 8-12 or something like that, can get home and do housework and such. right now Im in such a housework rut its not even funny. I really think its this house, it drags me down.

Allison, congrats on the scholarship! I admire you for being able to pick up and go somewhere foreign on your own. I've never been on my own...I wish I had more independence and strength to do something like that (of course, I probably would like it and send DH to the curb ). I also have "attachment" issues with K-Bug...she signed up for a four day camp/classroom program at school and I'm already dreading being away from her that long. I think I need to grow up... at 41 I'm still a mama's girl... and a daddy's girl!!

Dulcie, good luck to your DH! You're pretty strong yourself with all those moves... Again, when I moved to the town I'm in now...there was so much hullabaloo about me moving "so far" away from my parents... I moved 20 minutes away!! Most of my siblings are within 5 miles from our starting point... (It's the "old country" ways where you stay near family...)

Maria... I havent clicked here, so its not a big deal. Now moving from MO was a bigger deal. I didnt mind moving away from my family... in fact I prefer to be far away from them! But moving from dhs family was harder. But he wanted to cut the apron strings and make his own way.
