Re: Daily Check-in: April 9
Morning ladies...
Well so far today sucks......my kids broke my husband's 42 inch plasma tv that he received as a bonus/thank you from his job several months ago. It can't be repaired as it is the actual plasma screen that is broke not just the plexiglass cover. That is $2,500 gone! He is insisting that we replace it but I have no idea where the money is going to come from. What a nightmare. Needless to say it has been tense and miserable about here recently.
Plus, somehow I pulled a muscle in my back along the shoulder blade yesterday and can barely move or breathe. I think I did it when I had to chase the dog around the neighborhood and picker her up at an odd angle.
I hope everyone's day is better than mine.

Re: Daily Check-in: April 9
Maria... have fun! Dont overdo it on the junk! Happy birthday to K-bug
Allison..oh no on the tv! Have you called the company to see what they can suggest? Ouch on the back.
Well... as soon as the kids left on the bus, I did my first P90X workout... back, shoulders and abs. My shoulders and abs are feeling the burn now! It was an awesome workout. Needed a shower desperatly afterwards. So after my shower, got me some bfast. I think Im going to start leaving hte blender out in the morning so I can get a smoothie in when I first get up, that way I have some food in my belly, but nothing heavy. I ate strawberries this morning, then just got some oatmeal and put some strawberries in it. I need to get some blueberries and raspberries now. Lunch is going to be leftover rice and chicken. It does have some cream of chicken in it, but all well lol. Gotta figure out dinner still. I need to go grocery shopping but have to wait til the UPS guy comes first.

Re: Daily Check-in: April 9
Thanks Dulcie. Nothing can be done about the TV. It costs more to repair it that it cost in the first place. I can buy a new placement TV for 1/2 the price of repairing it. That is the terrible thing about plasma tvs. They are very delicate and very expensive.

Re: Daily Check-in: April 9
Dulcie-
In response to your post last night about my daily menus I have no idea WHY I'm choosing core foods...I mean I'm not trying to. I'm on the flex plan (I like the points system). Maybe at some point I will do CORE but not now. So are you suggesting I up the amount of points I eat at my meals of breakfast, lunch, and supper? And that will help the hunger thing? The small snacks are working for me throughout the day and I've been eating my big meals of the day on salad plates to trick my body into thinking I have more food than I'm allowed to eat. Yet after supper I was still hungry so I ate my snack meant for later (orange) early. On a positive note, I'm more regular than ever....No IBS attacks That makes me very happy. I did end up buying Peanut butter bliss and double chocolate 1 pt chocolate bars. Hope that wasn't a big mistake. They are gooooooood. Oh and that points thing re exercising. Do I get extra points to eat by exercising? Can you explain it to me as simply as possible?

Re: Daily Check-in: April 9
The more protein you eat, the longer it keeps you full. Fruits and vggies, though great, do digest faster than the protein. Id be sicker than a dog if I ate what you did yday, it would have my blood sugars and up and down, Id be constantly crashing. I have to have more protein. Im also starving if I dont get that protein in.
As far as exercising. Yes you get points to eat when you exercise. If you raise your heartrate, then it counts. Take out that slider you got, and you can figure out how many points. It all depends on intensity, how long and your weight. Say.. I did an intense workout this morning for 75 minutes (which I did lol)... at my weight of 141lbs... I got an extra 8 activity points, with which I can eat today... though max amount is supposed to be 4... so I wont eat those 8 activity points, but I will eat 4 of them. Now someone who weighs more than me... will earn more points. If you do a workout walking video for 30 minutes, light workout... and weigh anywhere from 150-200lbs, then its 1 activity point, which gives you one more point to eat that day before you dive into those weekly points. Try this page Weight watchers activity points it has a little thing. Though it said 9 points for my workout and WW etools gave me 8. So see... that 1 extra point could just possibly be a pb bliss. BTW... check the points on the double chocolate bars...they are actually 2 points. The sample was 1 point, I just realized that yday!

Re: Daily Check-in: April 9
You summarized that beautifully Dulcie. Thanks and it makes total sense. And thanks for pointing out the difference in points on chocolate bar...sample being only 1 point but bars I bought being 2. I'll watch that.

Re: Daily Check-in: April 9
I'm new over on this board, but I have started a new exercise routine and it is finally working. I have about 20 more pounds to loose. I have been doing Bikram Yoga. 90 minutes of intense yoga in a room where the turn the heat up to 103 degrees and up the humidity to 40%. The 90 min. workout burns 1008 calories on my 146 pound body. I started the workouts 1 week ago. I have done 6 out of the last 7 days and I have finally seen results. I lost 4 pounds this week and hope to keep a nice steady pace of 2-4 pounds each week.
I have been more healthy for the past 3 months but the weight didn't want to budge. I found that TTC and weight loss are hard to juggle.

Re: Daily Check-in: April 9
Your welcome Kara. be careful.. if you eat 2 of the 1 point bars together, they are counted as 3 points. If you eat 2 of the 2 point bars they are 5 points.
Welcome to the board Amy. I have to say that your workout sounds horrible. I already sweat up a storm, I can only imagine. We went out to the bar on Sat, and it was hot in there, I felt like I was going to pass out with the dancing and being so hot. So I can only imagine!
I am starving today. That workout burned more calories than I can manage to put in. I think I am going to buy some protein bars just to make sure Im not starving constantly. it doesnt help that I need to go grocery shopping but cant because my car isnt able to go right now (we put on a new hitch and lights and dh has to tie the wires on still). Otherwise I would have something else to eat! I think Im going to go and make me a smoothie.

Re: Daily Check-in: April 9
Hi Amy,
Welcome to our little group. You know me from lurking on cycle buddies. I'm the one who has a friend from Wausau,WI I actually joined Weight Watchers 8 weeks ago. This week I lost 1.8 lbs. I weigh 153.8 lbs currently. I am shooting for a total weight loss of 45 lbs. At 5'4 even a little weight shows on my petite frame. Glad you joined us over here. It's a great group. Lots of great support and encouragement. Wishing you much ttc luck this month and of course luck in losing those stubborn pounds. It looks like you are off to a great start. Awesome job Look forward to getting to know you better.

Re: Daily Check-in: April 9
Kara - I was glad to see you over here when I checked in. Did you have a nice time with your friend? I am also 5"4 and very athletic. I was about 120 when I go married and I would like to get back to that but I would be happy with 125 since I also carry a lot of muscle.
Dulcie - The workout is the hardest thing I have ever done. Yoga can be relaxing yet difficult at the same time, but when you combine it with 103 degree heat it is very difficult. Some days I do find it hard to breathe, but I know that I am burning over 1000 calories each time and that gets me moving. I have a friend from work who goes with me. She is a tiny 115 pounds and wants to lose weight. Man, I hate girls like that, but I love her too.

Re: Daily Check-in: April 9
You are in for a surprise, but I would also say it can be really fun as well. I would rather do 90 mins of hot Yoga than 30 mins on the treadmill anyday. LOL
I love your siggy pic by the way. Very cute!

Re: Daily Check-in: April 9
Id originally seen an infomercial with it. But last week I had a member of mine (Im a WW leader) tell me she got it for me. Shes a infomercial junky, always bringing in what she buys and giving them away. Anyways... Im pretty open with my members and they know that my problem area is my stomach. Well... she said she saw the infomercial and knew that it would work for me. What I didnt know was that she didnt order it til later on after I said okay. She found out my address (not hard if you know my last name since Im in the phone book) and had it sent to me. Well.... i started reading up on it. I was in shock. But decided that i wasnt going to let her down. She has faith that I can do it and that I can lose my belly (shes one of the few on that lol), so Im going to prove her right and Im doing it. Heres the page for it P90X® - Fitness, Nutrition, Diet, Weight Loss Official Website
