My dad was just moved into the carciac intensive care unit. He has been hospitalized since Monday for fluid on the lungs. We have moved 5 liters off and he was doing better, then his blood pressure hit 57/50. So now they have him on meds to speed up his heart and a bipap machine to let him breathe better. They tell us, its a matter of time, and possibly one ventilator stop till there isn't anything else they can do for him.

I am a realistic type of gal. I understand that dad is 74 and has lived a full life, so I understand he won't live forever. He has survived 5 major heart attacks, open heart surgery, and now has a pacemaker/defribrilator in addition to surviving lymphoma (it's in full remission), so he has been kind of living on borrowed time according to his doctors for some time now. I don't expect a mirracle, but what I do want is a peaceful period for him..this has been hard on him physically and emotionally. I paid for my baby sister to fly in yesterday because I didn't want her to miss her chance to say goodbye if it came to that. Now, its a wait -- and wait -- and wait. You all know how it goes. So yeah, anyway, any prayers to help send positive peaceful energy would be gratefully appreciated.

Thank any and all that send dad prayers and thoughts. On Sunday morning we were told they were going to intubate him and to go ahead and start making final arrangements. Dad must have heard the nursing staff talking about it because 2 hours later the doctor arrived to do the procedure and he said they wouldn't do it because Dad was making a real rally to breathe on his own. Each day has been a bit better, and he seems to be out of the woods. I'm so relieved!
