Please, please take a moment to peruse all your boards, on all your systems. Everyone and their cute little puppy dog is complaining about the moderating screen that is popping up every time you post.

IT IS BLOODY ANNOYING. Not only is it stinking irritating, it does nothing to speed this site up - in fact it slows it down immensely. This morning it took ages and ages for the pages to load - and this was the ONLY site that it was occuring on.

If you want to speed up your server, remove this silly moderating pop-up and look into the vBulletin hack that compresses signatures - this will increase your server speed exponentially. I posted about it on the "Question" thread below.

I know you believed it was helping, and that we all "bellyache" about "change" but this isn't just about change and not getting used to it. It's about you advertising a service that we're just not getting, and people are becoming increasingly angry about it. We're not 3 year olds, that don't adjust to change well - we were used to reasonably fast load times and we're simply not seeing them anymore. It will lead to a drop-off in posting, unless that's the idea.

Please - get rid of that moderating pop-up. It does a disservice to your entire site.

Well, let's see. $50,000 would make a good start. A vacation in the Bahamas wouldn't go awry either. Oh, and while you're at it, install that signature hack I was telling you about.

I wish I could help you with that! But, if a $50K windfall and bahamas vacation head this way, I'm afraid I'd probably have to be selfish!

I dont think the signatures itself make such a difference. Well at least for me. Yes it's true that this website takes ages to load, but its the time when all advertisment is loading if you will look at the status bar. And we all know that this keeps the site free...

Yes, the advertisements don't help, but they are a necessary evil. The sigs do cause problems for other people though - those still on dinosaur dial-up. Put those both together - the ads and the sigs - and well....

The sig hack doesn't get rid of the sig altogether - you can still have it. It's just that it will only show up on your first post, instead of 80 times throughout a thread. Compressing this WILL make a difference.

For those on dial-up, you can disable the system from showing you other people's signatures. Just head into your user control panel (see USER CP at the top of the threads), go into "edit options", and scroll down to "Thread Display Options". Uncheck the box that says "Show Signatures", and the pages will load a lot faster for you.
