Icon5 When to orgasm?

Hi girls, I am a newbie here!! My DP and myself are about to try our first home-insemination next month so I have been researching into how we best achieve a BFP!! I read on this forum that many of you agree an orgasm is essential to the success, but is it best to inseminate then orgasm? Or orgasm then inseminate?

Than what if because of stress or something I cannot achieve orgasm? Has anyone else recieved a BFP from home-insemination without having an orgasm?

Thanks everyone, this site is awesome and I'll definately become a regular! Im also from Sydney Australia, anyone else from that area?

Hello and Welcome!!!

I would say the best time for the orgasm is within the first 30 minutes after insemination. Now I don't do fresh at home inseminations so please get more feedback.

Well GOOD LUCK!!!! Hope you stick around.

Yeh I agree!! Thanks! Im just concerned that I won't be able to achieve climax so that is why I was wondering if anyone has achieved a BFP without this!

Oh yes, of course you can achieve a BFP without the orgasm I think it just helps the process....don't put to much pressure on yourself, really.

Welcome Sweettulip. I'm glad to see another newbie here on the board. I agree that having an orgasm can help achieve getting a BFP. There seems to be a mix of opinions between before or after insemination. From what I've heard, if it's after, it needs to be as soon as possible after the insemination. Like within minutes. Personally, what I do is insert the syringe, have an orgasm and have DP push the plunger during the orgasm or immediately after. I have gotten pregnant before having the orgasm just before the actual insemination. Unfortunately, it was an ectopic pregnancy. But since it has worked for me before that way, and it works better for me, I will continue to do it that way.

Hi Stacy and Amber!! Thankyou thats the kind of answer I was looking for, as that is what I believe would be best but since we have yet to try, I was thinking it may prove to be awkward trying to make it all work with a syringe inside you. I guess I am going to have to just try and relax and just take the first try as a practise run!! I guess its a matter of trial and error for each couple, as yes from what I have read its definately conflicting between the before and after theories!! Goodluck with ttc!!!!
